This is my first story. (hope it’s good.) So if I make a
few mistakes don’t burn me. As for any pokemon and characters used
in my stories that I did not create are property of their respected owners
and I do not wish to offend them by borrowing their creations. I
just want to entertain people with my (hopefully half decent) writing skills.
Also about in mid story I will add a pokemon quiz based on the game boy
game

Any way I kept you long enough. The answer is at the end
of the story. And speaking of the story let the reading begin.
Pokemon Journey
Part I: The road ahead

On a road heading to a town named Pallet we see a 12 year old boy, black jeans, gray T-shirt and a blue vest, walking down to see a Professor Oak. He just got a pokemon license and was off from a town, not much bigger than Pallet. Oak lab is the only reason Pallet Town was on the map.
“Well,” the boy thought aloud, “I guess a nice quiet town was the best place to study pokemon.”
He soon entered the town and made a beeline for Oak’s laboratory. It wasn’t really hard to find, you literary couldn’t miss it in a small place like this.
“Finally here at last!” He said. When he entered he noted the
simplicity of his lab.
“His father taught him the K.I.S.S. rule.” He said in the privacy of
his mind. “Keep it Simple Stupid.”
He looked around seeing pictures of pokemon of all shapes and sizes, but no Oak.
“Professor Oak,” he called out. “are you here?” No one answered
him.
“Maybe I should come back later when he’s here.”
He said aloud.
Just then the door leading outside opened and a man with gray hair and a white Lab coat walked in.
“Professor Oak?”
“Huh?” Oak said as turned and saw the young boy.
“Don’t tell me,” the Professor began, “Another boy who just got
his license.”
“Good guess.”
“Not really,” the pokemon Professor began as he picked up a clip board.
“Boys your age seem to come most every day. I’m thinking of putting in
a revolving glass door if this keeps up.”
The boy giggles for a moment before the world’s foremost expert on pokemon spoke. Professor Oak was the kind of guy who got to business.
“Now then,” Oak began, “if you want your pokemon young man I need to
know your name.”
“ Joey Johnstone sir, but my friends call me JJ”
The Professor takes a quick look at the clip board
“ Ah.. Here we are, well JJ I’ve got the pokemon for you. Wait here for a moment.”
Oak then went to a back room, checked the board and found the right pokemon and a small red, flat object about the size of a pocket organizer.
“Here we are.” He said as came back into the main room. “Your first pokemon”

JJ looked at the small ball no bigger than a marble.
“How do you open it?” he wondered
“Hit the button on the ball then toss it.” Oak replied
JJ pushed the small button and in grew to the size of his fist. Then as the Professor instructed he gave a nice toss to an open space in the room. As it landed it opened and a small red lizard came out.
“Char Char.” The creature said.
“what is it?” JJ wondered.
“A Charmander,” Oak explained. “A fire pokemon”
“Charm Charmander.” The fire pokemon continued.
“Cool ,..er.. Hot … ugh you know what I mean.” JJ blurted.
‘Yes, I know,” chuckled Professor Oak. “Here this will also give
you a hand.”
Oak then gave JJ the red device. He opened it and noticed some small buttons.
“What is it?” JJ Queried.
“Char?” Charmander pitched in confused himself.
“A pokedex.” Oak explained. “It will give you basic pokemon information.
Just press the left white button under the screen, and Alex as I call him
will explain.”
JJ pointed the pokedex at charmander and push the respected button.
“Charmander,” a computer like voice began. “A fire pokemon. Prefers
hot places and warm climates. Uses powerful fire attacks such as
ember, flame thrower, and fire spin.”
“If used correctly, it can help you set up strategies in battle.” Oak
mentioned.
“Hey Charmander. Ready to catch us some pokemon?” JJ asked.
“Ander” His new pokemon said with a nod.
“Okay!” Then JJ looked puzzled. “How do I get him back
in the ball?”
“Just hold it in front of you and say ‘Charmander return’ ,then press
the button to make it shrink.” Oak explained.
Holding the ball forward JJ gave the command.
“Charmander return!”
Then Charmander entered the ball through the button, followed by JJ pushing the button, making the ball shrink.
“Well then,” Oak began once more. “go out and get some pokemon.”
“Right!” replied the proud new owner of a charmander.
JJ left Oak’s Lab to begin his new adventure. His first stop would be Viridian Forest to catch pokemon. With his new Charmander in hand and a road ahead one thought came to mind.
“Look out Pokemon! A new trainer is on his way, and ready to catch
ya!”
