"So, what are we going to name our Pikachus?" asked Flint.
"What?" asked Ollie.
"Well, we each need to give them nicknames. I mean, we can't
all name them
Pikachu. They'll get confused."
"Okay," said Jackie.
They all thought about it a minute, and then Jackie said, "I
have a name
for mine. I'm going to name it Vulcan."
"I can't think of a name," said Flint. "Can I just call it Pikachu?"
"Sure. But Ollie has to think of a different name for his, though."
"Tommy," is all Ollie said.
"What?" Flint said.
"That's what I'm going to name my Pikachu."
"Why?"
"Well, Thomas Edison did a bunch of projects with electricity,
so I'm
naming my Pikachu Tommy."
"Oh."
"We have to bring our Pikachus out and tell them their new names,"
stated
Jackie. She took out her Pokeball and called Pikachu out. "Your new
name is
Vulcan," she said to Pikachu, or Vulcan I guess I should say.
Vulcan nodded, smiling. "Chu!" it said.
Ollie brought out his Pikachu and told it its new name. Pikachu
(Tommy)
nodded.
"It's getting kind of late. We should hit the sack," Flint said
as he
looked up at the sky.
"Yeah," Jackie agreed as she took out her sleeping bag from her
bag.
Pikachu said, "Pika-Pika?" (when do I get to battle?)
"Tomorrow, Pikachu. It's late," Flint said.
"Pikachu." (okay.)
Later that night, everybody was asleep except for Pikachu. He
remembered
his leader telling him to find his father. Pikachu, for years, had
thought
that the leader Pikachu was his father. But the leader Pikachu revealed
that he was not, and that his father was still out there and he needed
to
find him. Finally, after a few minutes of tossing and turning, Pikachu
fell
asleep.
The next morning, Flint was awakened by a little sound. "Mu-ru-ru."
Flint jumped out of his sleeping bag. "It's you! Guys wake up!
That weird
Pokemon is back!"
Jackie and Ollie saw it and jumped out of their sleeping bags
too.
"It's that weird Pokemon!" yelled Ollie.
"That's what I just said!"
"Let's get it!" exclaimed Jackie. "Let's attack it with all the
Pokemon
we've got! Vulpix, Vulcan, go!" she yelled as she threw her Pokeballs.
"Go, Psyduck, Pikachu, and Rattata!" yelled Flint.
"Go, Geodude, Tommy, and Weedle!" Ollie threw all of his Pokeballs
too.
All of the Pokemon surrounded Muru, but as soon as they jumped
at it, it
teleported out of the way, and they all hit each other's head.
Flint looked over. "There it is!"
As soon as he said that, Muru ran away. "Hey! Come back!" Flint
yelled. "I
want a fair battle!"
Jackie and Ollie ran after him. "Man, he's really determined
to get that
Pokemon, isn't he?" said Jackie.
"Well, if he wants to become a Pokemon Master, he's gonna need
to get all
the Pokemon," replied Ollie. "I want that Pokemon too."
Jackie and Ollie almost ran into Flint as he stopped. "I lost
him," he
moaned. Then he started to yell. "One of these days I'll get you, Muru!
You
just wait!"
"C'mon, Flint," said Ollie. "We gotta go back."
Jackie just remembered something. "Oh, crap! We forgot about
our Pokemon!"
They all ran as fast as they could towards their campsite. When
they got
there they saw no one. Except for Psyduck.
"Psy-Psyduck!" it yelled as it ran to Flint and grasped onto
his leg.
"Psyduck? It's okay. What happened? Where is everyone else?"
said Flint as
he tried to calm Psyduck down.
"Hey there's a note on Psyduck's back," said Jackie as she picked
it up.
She started to read it. " 'We have all your Pokemon, except for this
one.
He looked too stupid to take. Meet us in Pewter City in one hour, and
we'll
give you your Pokemon back. We'll tell you what we want from there.
You can
not identify us. Signed, Team Rocket.' "
"Only Team Rocket would be stupid enough to sign their own ransom
notes,"
muttered Ollie. "Should we call the police?"
"Look around, Ollie," said Jackie. "You see any pay phones around
here?"
"We have to book it though, if we want to make it to Pewter City
in an
hour!" exclaimed Flint as he got his bag. "Let's go!"
Then they got their stuff together and ran towards Pewter City.
