Viridian City, "The Eternally Green Paradise." The little city was full of
people and...fast food!
Ollie ran towards the nearest McDonald's. "This place really does fell
like paradise."
"Smells like paradise is more like it," said Flint as he tried to keep up
with Ollie. "We're going to need to get lunch to go, because we need to get
our Pokemon to a Pokemon Center."
So they got their lunch and ran over to the Pokemon Center. After Nurse
Joy (the new generation of Nurse Joys) healed Flint and Ollie's Pokemon,
Flint asked, "Do you know where the Pokemon Gym is?"
"It's one block down on the right," replied Joy. "But, do you think you're
ready?"
"No. But what have we got to lose?"
"Well," Ollie started. "Our pride, our dignity, and just about everything
else. That is, if we lose."
"Do you have nine badges?" asked Joy.
"No..." Flint trailed off.
"Then you can't get in. You have to get nine badges and then come back
here."
"Ah well," said Ollie as they walked out the door. "We probably would've
lost anyway. I mean, all's I got is Geodude and you have Psyduck and
Rattata."
All of a sudden, a girl came out of nowhere carrying a Vulpix. "Look out!
I gotta get her to the Pokemon Center!" she yelled as she pushed Flint and
Ollie out of the way and ran into the center.
Ollie was blushing. "She's the prettiest girl I've ever seen," he said as
he followed the girl into the center like a zombie.
"Ollie? What are you doing?" said Flint as he followed. "We have to go."
When Flint went inside, he saw Ollie just standing there, staring at the
girl, still blushing.
"I'm gonna go talk to her," said Ollie as he walked towards the girl.
"Oh, great. You're gonna make a fool of yourself. If anybody asks, I don't
know you," moaned Flint as he sat on the couch.
Ollie went up the girl and sat by her on the couch in the waiting room.
"Um, hi," Ollie said.
The girl looked over. "What? Oh, hi."
"Uh, my name is Ollie."
"That's nice."
Ollie looked to Flint for some advice, but Flint just shrugged.
"What's your name?"
The girl sighed. "Jackie."
"Um, okay. Was that your Pokemon?"
"Yeah. He got his butt kicked by some weird Pokemon that I've never seen
before and my Pokedex couldn't find any data."
Ollie's eyes widened. "By chance, did it say, 'Muru?' "
Jackie looked at Ollie. "Yeah! Did you run into it too?"
Ollie nodded. "It beat up my Geodude pretty badly. But, Geodude's okay
now."
Ollie signaled for Flint to come. When he did, Ollie said, "Flint this is
Jackie, Jackie this is Flint."
They shook hands. Wow! She is pretty, Flint thought.
"Jackie ran into that weird Pokemon too," Ollie told Flint.
"That Pokemon that looks like a bear and a rabbit?"
"Yeah."
Just then, the ER light turned off and Nurse Joy came out with Vulpix.
"She should be fine," said the nurse.
"Thank you," Jackie said as she hugged Vulpix. "Well, I guess Vulpix and I
should continue our journey. It was nice meeting the both of you."
"Wait," Ollie said. "You're on a Pokemon journey too?"
"Yes."
"Well, why don't you just come with us on our journey?"
"I don't know. I don't really know you that well. How can I trust you?"
"We're gonna steal your Vulpix or anything. We have our own Pokemon. I
mean, since we're all going in the same direction, we might as well stick
together."
Jackie thought a moment and then finally said, "Sure."
"Great! Well, let's all go and become Pokemon masters!"
"Your friend sure has a lot of spunk, doesn't he?" Jackie whispered to
Flint.
"Yep. But you get used to it," Flint whispered back.
"Okay! Nobody move!!" Flint, Ollie, and Jackie turned around. There were
three robbers! "Give us all your Pokemon!"
The robbers had guns and were firing shots at the ceiling. They looked at
Flint, Ollie, and Jackie, pointing their guns at them.
"Give us your Pokemon!" they yelled.
"Okay, okay, j-just don't fire the g-gun," Flint stuttered. He rolled one
of his Pokeballs over to the robbers. They opened it, but it was empty!
"Is this some sort of j-" he started to say but all of a sudden, Flint
threw another one!
"Rattata, bite them! Psyduck, scratch them!" he yelled.
"Geodude, tackle him!" Ollie threw his ball too!
The robbers were about to fire their guns but the Pokemon were too fast
for them. The Pokemon were biting and scratching the robbers.
"Ow! Ow! Stop it!" they yelled.
"Vulpix, Ember!" Jackie also threw her Pokeball. Vulpix came out, Flint
and Ollie's Pokemon jumped off the men, and Vulpix blew fire at the
robbers! Needless to say, the robbers were burnt to a crisp.They stood
there a moment and then ran away.
"Team Rocket will be back!" they said as they ran out the door.
"Yeah! Good job, guys!" Nurse Joy said.
"Thanks," they all replied.
So, after all the thank you's from people Flint and Ollie continued on
their Pokemon journey with their new friend.
