"So, what the next city?" mumbled Jackie as they walked along
a path.
Ollie pulled out his map from his bag and looked at it, then
muttered
gloomily, "Celadon."
"What are you guys so bummed about?" asked Flint as he noticed
that Shari
was looking down too.
"Well," started Ollie, "none of us have caught a single Pokemon
for a very
long time. I gotta catch some more."
"Me too," agreed Jackie.
"Same here," mumbled Shari.
"Oh, it'll be alright," Flint encouraged.
"That's easy for you to say. You've been catching some."
"But I'm the one that's gonna be the Pokemon Master."
"Yeah, but I wanna be a fire Pokemon Master," Jackie said. "I
need to catch
some fire Pokemon."
"And I need to catch water Pokemon," Shari complained.
"And I just wanna look good," Ollie said.
"Pi!" Pikachu exclaimed as he noticed something. (Look!)
They all looked up and saw a Squirtle!
"Cool! A Squirtle!" Flint said as he took out his Pokedex.
"Squirtle, after birth, its back swells and hardens into a shell.
Powerfully sprays foam from its mouth."
Flint put his Pokedex back in his pocket and took out a Pokeball.
"What do you think you're doing?" asked Shari.
"I'm gonna capture it. What does it look like?"
"I don't think so! It's a water Pokemon. I'm gonna capture it."
"Fine," Flint sighed as he stepped back.
"Thank you," she said as she took out a Pokeball and threw it.
"Staryu,
go!"
With a red beam of light coming from the Pokeball, Staryu came
out.
"Staryu, tackle it!"
Staryu started flying and spun around towards Squirtle, but Squirtle
jumped
out of the way. Then it charged towards Staryu and hit it with its
head,
knocking Staryu down.
"Staryu are you okay?"
Squirtle shot water from its mouth at Staryu, and that made it
stand back
up, refreshed.
"S-squirtle??" Squirtle said. (An attack that helps my opponent??)
"Yeah, Squirtle. Putting Staryu on water completely refreshes
it!" Shari
explained.
"Squirt squirtle. Squir tle!" he exclaimed as he ran away towards
the
river. (Okay that's great. I'm outta here!)
"Oh no you don't!" Shari yelled as she took out another Pokeball
and threw
it towards the river that Squirtle was about to jump into. "Go, Octopon!"
(That made up Pokemon.)
Octopon came out from the Pokeball and landed in the river, just
as
Squirtle was about to jump in.
"Octopon, wrap!" Shari ordered.
Squirtle was going too fast and fell right into Octopon's tentacles.
Octopon squeezed on Squirtle for a while, then threw it down on the
bank.
"Pokeball, go!" Shari yelled as she threw an empty Pokeball and
it landed
on Squirtle.
Squirtle got stuck inside the Pokeball, and shook it for a while,
trying to
get out, but then he tired out, and stopped.
"Yes!! I got Squirtle!!!" exclaimed Shari as she picked up the
Pokeball
containing her brand new Pokemon.
"Great job, Shari!" Jackie said.
"Yeah!" Ollie agreed.
"Yeah, great," Flint mumbled.
"What's wrong with you?" asked Ollie.
"Nothing. It's just that, I wanted to capture it."
"Oh, don't be such a poor sport. There's plenty of Squirtles."
"K," Flint sighed.
"Pikachu pika pi!" Pikachu said as he hopped on Shari's shoulder.
(Good
work, Shari!)
"Thanks, Pikachu," Shari replied.
So, they walked along more, and Jackie managed to catch a Growlithe
(she
let it stay outside of its Pokeball, because she always wanted a dog),
and
Ollie caught an Oddish. But Flint got nothing, much to his dismay.
"This is great!" Ollie said, holding up the Pokeball with his
new Oddish.
"Yeah!" agreed Jackie as she patted her new Growlithe on the
head.
"Yeah, it's perfect," Flint muttered.
Growlithe's ears perked up and he started to growl.
"What is it, Growlithe?" Jackie asked.
Pikachu's ears perked up too. "Pika chu pika." (I hear something.)
Suddenly, something hopped out of the bushes. "Muru!" it exclaimed.
"It's Muru!!" yelled Flint. "You're not gonna get away from me
this time!"
Flint ran up and dove for Muru, but it disappeared and Flint
fell on the
ground. Muru then reappeared on sat on Flint's back! Flint rolled over
and
tried to grab it, but it jumped off before he could.
"What do you want from me?!" Flint asked Muru. "Why do you keep
coming back
to us?"
"Who knows?" asked Ollie. "He's pretty weird."
"Pretty amusing though," said Jackie.
"Yeah, I like watching you trying to catch him," Shari said with
a snicker.
"Shut up!" Flint yelled. "Enough of this! I'm going to get you
once and for
all!!" he took out a Pokeball and threw it. "Go, Gastly! See if you
beat
that!"
Gastly came out of the Pokeball. "G-gastly!"
"This should be good," Jackie said.
"I need some popcorn. That would be perfect," stated Ollie.
Gastly floated up to Muru and got on his face, so it looked like
Muru had
Gastly's face. Then Muru turned into a ghostbuster! He had the gun
and
everything!
"Gastly!" Gastly yelled as he hid behind Flint.
Ollie, Jackie, Shari, and Pikachu all laughed.
"Oh, you think that's funny, Pikachu?" asked Flint. "You're next."
Pikachu's eyes widened and shook its head.
"Ah, don't worry. I'll get out all my other Pokemon."
He took out all of his Pokeballs and threw them, and all of the
Pokemon
with him came out.
Muru turned back into his regular self.
"Okay, Psyduck, you'll use confusion, Bulbasaur, razor leaf,
Caterpie,
string shot, Zubat, supersonic, Gastly, night shade, and Pikachu,
thundershock!"
"Woah, boy," said Ollie. "Let's hide."
Ollie, Jackie, and Shari all ran and hid behind a boulder.
"Okay guys!" Flint yelled. "DO IT NOW!!!"
They all combined their attacks, and shot it at Muru.
"Try to get past that!!"
Muru nodded as if to say "okay", and all of a sudden, it turned
into a
mirror!
"Oh no!! Guys, look out!!" Flint screamed.
But it was too late. They launched their attacks, it hit the
mirror, and
bounced back and hit them, knocking them out.
Then Muru turned back into its regular form.
Flint ran to his Pokemon. "Are you guys okay?"
But they were out cold. He sighed and put them back into their
Pokeballs,
then held Pikachu in his arms. He turned his attention to Muru. "One
of
these days, I will capture you!"
Muru nodded and said, "Maybe." Then all of a sudden, it disappeared.
Flint was wide-eyed. "He speaks English!!"
Ollie, Jackie and Shari came back from behind their rock.
"He's been able to talk to us all the time!" exclaimed Ollie.
"Why didn't he ever talk before?" asked Jackie.
"I don't know," said Flint. "But I have the feeling that he's
watching us
right now."
They looked around. "You won't be able to see him," Flint explained.
"He's
cloaked."
"But, why would he be watching us?" asked Jackie.
Flint shrugged. "That's another thing I don't understand."
"When you said you'd catch him," Shari started, "he said 'Maybe'.
So that
means its not hopeless."
"I guess not," he said as he started walking.
"Where are you going?" asked Ollie.
"Well, we gotta get to Celadon. My Pokemon need to get to the
Pokemon
Center, unless of course, one of you has a potion or something."
They all shook their heads. They were all out.
A few hours later, they finally reached the city of rainbow dreams,
Celadon
City. They immediately went to the Pokemon Center.
While Flint waited for his Pokemon to heal, he called home. He
forgot to do
so after he beat Sabrina. He was supposed to call so that his parents
would
know that he was okay.
Zoe heard the phone ring and she bounced up to it and answered.
"Hello?"
she said.
The video screen popped up. "Hi Zoe!" greeted Flint.
"Hi, big brother! I haven't seen you in awhile!"
"Same here."
So after he talked to Zoe, Ash and Misty came to the phone.
"WHY DIDN'T YOU CALL US TO MAKE SURE YOU WERE OKAY??!!!" screamed
Misty
when she picked up the phone.
"Honey, calm down," Ash said.
"I'm sorry, Flint," Misty apologized. "It's just that I was so
worried."
"It's okay, Mom," Flint replied. "I'm sorry too for worrying
you. I just
forgot."
"So," Ash said, "I take it you beat Sabrina."
"Yep," said Flint as he showed them his badge.
After he talked to his parents for a while, Pikachu (Ash's Pikachu)
wanted
to talk to Flint because something was bothering him.
"Pika pi," Pikachu said. (Hi, Flint.)
"Hey, Pikachu. What's on your mind?"
"Pikachu. Pika pi pi?" (Something bothering me. Can I see your
Pikachu for
a sec?)
"Okay. He just got out of the healing room."
He left the phone for a sec and then came back with Pikachu.
"Okay. Here he
is."
Pikachu (Ash's Pikachu. We'll call him Pikachu 1.) just stared
at him a
moment, then asked Pikachu 2, "Pi-pikachu pi pika chu?" (What's with
that
little lightning bolt mark on your stomach?)
"Pi pi? Pikachu pika pika," Pikachu 2 replied. (Oh this? It's
just a
birthmark.)
Pikachu 1 thought a minute trying to remember where he saw another
Pikachu
with that little birthmark. Then it hit him, and his eyes widened.
"Pika-pi pikachu?" Pikachu 1 asked. (Flint, could you leave us
alone a
minute?)
Flint raised an eyebrow. "Um...sure..." he got up and left.
"Pikachu...pika pi..." Pikachu 1 said. (I don't know you real
well, but...I
don't know how to say this...)
"Pika chu?" Pikachu 2 asked. (Say what?)
"Pika...pikachu chu!" (You...are my son!)
Pikachu 2's eyes widened and he blinked. "Pika?" (What?)
"Pi." (Yes.)
"Chu pi pika pikachu?" (Are you sure you have the right Pikachu?)
"Pi. Pika ka chu pikachu. Pi pika chu pi. Ka pika pikachu." (Yes.
You are
the only Pikachu in the world who has a lightning bolt mark on his
belly. I
remember looking at you for the first time. It was the happiest moment
in my
life.)
Pikachu 2 touched the screen as if to touch his father's face,
and a single
tear rolled down his cheek. "Pi ka pikachu chu. Pikachu chu." (I can't
believe it. You're my dad.)
"Pika chu ka Pikachu chu. Pi chu ka pikachu pi pi. Pikachu pika."
(After
your mother and I had you, you were both taken away from me by her
trainer.
Ash had a heated debate with the trainer that we should stay together,
but
the trainer wouldn't listen, and I never saw you again. I loved her
so
much.)
"Pika pikachu chu pika pi pi pikachu." (Mom and I ran away from
her
trainer, because she wanted to find you, but we got lost in the woods,
and
we found a Pikachu tribe, and we have stayed with them ever since,
until
Flint came along and, since that time, we've been traveling together.)
Later, both Pikachus called their trainers and told them.
"Wow! Really?" asked Flint after he heard. "That's so great!"
"Man, what are the chances of that happening?" said Ash.
So, after lots of heart felt goodbyes, Flint and the gang headed
out of the
Pokemon Center towards the gym.
