Ollie sat up, yawned, stretched and rubbed his eyes. He looked
around
and saw Shari cooking breakfast and Flint and Pikachu trying to figure
out what it was breaking it into small pieces with a chisel. His first
thought was Jackie. He got up and walked over to Shari.
"Where is she?" asked Ollie.
"Well, if you're referring to Jackie, she's washing up. She said
she
wanted to look nice this morning."
Ollie rolled his eyes. "Girls. She'll still be my girl no matter
what
she looks like."
"Oh! If any guy said that to me, I'd go out with him in a second!"
Flint looked up from his breakfast and walked up to Shari.
"Hey baby," he said. "I don't care what you look like, you'll
always be
my girl."
Ollie, Shari and Pikachu stared at him a moment and blinked.
"Um...I'm going to go check up on Jackie," Shari said puzzled
as she
walked away.
"Pika-Pika Pikachu?" Pikachu asked Flint. (Why'd you say that?)
"Yeah," Ollie said. "I thought you and Shari didn't like each
other."
"Well, I don't really. I'm just...well...a little jealous of
you,"
Flint explained.
"You're j-" Ollie started to say, but then Flint cut him off.
"Shhh...look there's a Caterpie!" he whispered as he pointed
at the
little caterpillar pokemon. "I'm going to catch it!"
Flint took out his Pokedex and pointed it at Caterpie: "Caterpie,
its
short feet are tipped with suction pads that enable it to tirelessly
climb slopes and walls."
"What's a Caterpie doing here? It's mating season now, and it
should be
a Butterfree by now," Ollie stated.
"Well, I guess it's a late bloomer. Pikachu go get!"
"Pi-Pikachu, Pi-Pi," Pikachu said as he chomped on the breakfast.
(Not
right now. I've finally tasted this stuff Shari made, and it's quite
tasty.)
"Oh, really? Let me try!"
"Flint!" Ollie yelled. "Remember your little job?"
"Oh yeah!" he took out a Pokeball and yelled, "Bulbasaur, go!"
He threw the Pokeball and Bulbasaur came out. "Bulba-bulbasaur!"
it
yelled.
"Bulbasaur, vine whip!"
Bulbasaur's vines came out from its back, and smacked towards
Caterpie,
but Caterpie dodged.
"Woah. Quite fast for a little worm," said Ollie.
"Fast, huh? We'll see how fast Bulbasaur is! Tackle now!" Flint
exclaimed.
Bulbasaur charged towards Caterpie. Then all of a sudden, Caterpie
shot
out a sticky substance from its mouth and shot it at Bulbasaur, wrapping
it up.
"Bulbasaur, cut off the stuff with razor leaf!"
Bulbasaur started shooting sharp leaves out of its back and cut
the
substance off.
"Good! Now use vine whip again!"
Bulbasaur shot its vines at Caterpie and wrapped it up in the
vines
knocking it on the ground again and again.
"Okay, stop now!" Flint took out an empty Pokeball. "Pokeball,
go!" he
yelled as he threw it at the Caterpie. It hit it and opened, sucking
the
Caterpie in. The Pokeball shook a little while, but then stopped.
"Alright! We got Caterpie!" Flint yelled happily. "Great job,
Bulbasaur! Return!"
He held out Bulbasaur's Pokeball and sucked him in. Then he took
the
Pokeball with Caterpie in it, but all of a sudden, it disappeared!
"Hey! What the-! Where did it go?!" Flint yelled.
"I don't know," Ollie said, puzzled.
"It just disappeared!"
Ollie thought a minute. "Maybe we can find a phone and ask Prof.
Oak
what happened. Maybe he knows."
"Yeah! A phone! Gotta find a phone!" Flint exclaimed as he ran
around.
Shari walked up from behind some bushes. "Hey guys! Introducing
the new
Jackie!"
Ollie looked up. "Huh?"
Jackie walked up from behind the bushes. She was incredible.
New
haircut, makeup, new clothes. Needless to say, any guy would've died
for
her.
Ollie and Flint jaws dropped.
"Woah," said Flint. "Wait a minute! I gotta find a phone!"
"Wow," Ollie said, amazed. "You look beautiful."
Jackie smiled. "Thanks."
"Where'd you get the new clothes?" asked Flint.
"Well, me and Shari did some shopping at Vermillion before we
left."
"That was some good washing up you did," said Ollie, completely
infatuated.
"Who cut your hair?" Flint asked.
"That would be me," Shari said.
"Wow. You actually did something right."
Shari grabbed his ear and started walking away with him. "Let's
leave
these two alone. You come too, Pikachu."
Pikachu snapped his fingers, disappointed, then reluctantly followed.
"Ow ow ow ow ow," said Flint the whole way.
After they left, Ollie just stared at Jackie.
"So," Jackie started. "What do we do now?"
"Um...I don't know," Ollie said.
They heard some coughing behind the bushes. "Kiss her."
Ollie and Jackie looked at the bushes, then looked at each other
again.
They inched towards each other, their lips getting closer and closer...
"Prepare for trouble!"
Ollie and Jackie looked up.
"And make it double!"
"Crap!" Shari said. "They were just about to make their move!"
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all peoples within our nation!"
"It's Team Rocket again!" Flint yelled as him and Shari ran out
of the
bushes.
"Do you really think so?" Shari said sarcastically.
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To ex-"
Ollie cut him off. "Okay, cut it! Let's just get this over with!"
he
took out a Pokeball and said, annoyed, "Pidgey, go."
He threw it and Pidgey came out.
"Go, all of my pokemon," Flint said as he threw all his Pokeballs.
"Hey! You can't do that! It's cheating!" James complained.
"We're not playing by the rules this time!" Jackie yelled as
she threw
all of her Pokeballs. "You ruined a great moment and now you're gonna
pay! All of my pokemon, go!"
"Mine too!" yelled Shari as she threw all her Pokeballs.
"Count me in!" exclaimed Ollie as he too, threw all of his.
"That was a big mistake!" Jesse yelled.
"Yeah!" Bob said.
They reached behind some bushes and took out a huge gadget that
all of
them had to carry.
"What is that?" asked Flint.
"It's our Pokemon sucker-upper!" James yelled.
"A what?" asked Ollie.
"A Pokemon sucker-upper! You know, a vacuum that sucks up all
of your
Pokemon?"
"Oh...wait a minute!"
They turned it on, and all of a sudden all of their Pokemon were
taken
up off the ground and sucked in the sucker-upper!
"Hey! Stop that!" Flint yelled as he ran towards them, trying
his best
not to get sucked in too.
Team Rocket got all their Pokemon and ran away.
"We have to stop them!" yelled Ollie as him and the rest of the
group
started to chase after Team Rocket.
Suddenly, they heard punching and kicking and yelling.
"What was that?!" asked Jackie.
Their question was soon answered as they saw Team Rocket on the
ground
all beat up, and standing on them, victorious was Muru!
"Muru! Muru!" it yelled as it jumped up and down.
"Muru!" yelled Flint.
Muru looked up, then all of a sudden, disappeared.
"Where'd he go?!"
"I don't know," said Jackie. "But this time, he helped us. I
guess he's
on our side."
"Well, then why won't he let me catch him?"
"Maybe he just wants to be free," explained Ollie.
"Or maybe he's waiting for the right time," said Shari.
"Pi-ka, Pikachu," encouraged Pikachu. (Dont worry, you'll get
him.)
So they walked on, Ollie and Jackie snuggling, Flint gagging,
and Shari
saying her, "Oh, that's so romantic" stuff.
Soon, they climbed a little hill, looked over the horizon, and
there it
was, the shining, golden land of commerce, Saffron City.
"That's a beautiful sight," said Jackie.
"Not as beautiful as you," commented Ollie.
"Guys! Enough with all the mush!" Flint yelled. "Let's just get
there
because I want to go see what happened to my Caterpie!"
He ran down the hill and the others followed, trying to keep
up with
him.
Flint bursted into the Pokemon center and yelled, "Where's the
phone?!"
"Right behind you," stated Nurse Joy.
"Thank you!" he said as he turned around and dialed Prof. Oak's
number.
Prof. Oak was eating dinner when the phone rang. "Ring ring ring!
Phone
call! Phone call!" the phone said.
Prof. Oak picked it up and turned on the video screen. "Hello?"
he
said.
"Prof. Oak! It's Flint!" Flint exclaimed, out of breath.
"Oh, hi Flint. How a-"
Flint cut him off. "I'm fine! But do you know where my Caterpie
is?! I
caught it and then it just disappeared!"
"Oh, he's right here," Prof. Oak said as he lifted Caterpie up
to the
screen.
"Hey! How'd he get over there?" Flint asked.
"Well, you can only carry six Pokemon at a time, and after that,
all
the Pokemon you catch are transported here. Isn't technology somethin'?
Although this isn't new. This was around when your father and I were
Pokemon trainers."
"How can I get Caterpie over here?"
"Take out your Pokedex."
"Okay," Flint said as he took his Pokedex from his pocket and
opened
it.
"Do you see that white button?"
"Yeah."
"That's how you get Caterpie over to you. But first you have
to deposit
one of the Pokemon that is with you over to me."
"Hmm...okay. I'll guess I'll deposit Raticate, since it already
evolved, and could use a break," Flint stated as he took out the
Pokeball with Raticate in it.
"Okay. Just push the white button."
Flint pushed it and Raticate disappeared from his hand.
"Now scroll through the Pokemon that are in your Pokedex and
pick
Caterpie, then press the white button again."
He did, and all of a sudden, Caterpie disappeared from Prof.
Oak's lap,
and a Pokeball containing Caterpie was in Flint's hand.
"There. You see?" Prof. Oak asked.
"Yeah, that's pretty easy."
"By the way, Flint. You better catch a lot more Pokemon if you
want to
beat Gary Jr. and your other rivals from Pallet."
Now Flint was nervous. "H-How many Pokemon does Gary have?"
"Thirty."
"Thirty Pokemon?! That's insane!!"
"Well, it may be insane, but its the truth. So, go out and get
a bunch
of Pokemon."
"But, I can't right now. I have to heal my Pokemon, and then
fight at
the gym."
"Where are you, anyway?"
"Saffron City."
"I don't know if you want to know this, but most of your other
rivals
are already almost to Celadon City."
"What?!"
"If I were you, I wouldn't waste any time."
"Okay! Bye, Prof. Oak."
"Good-bye and good luck."
Then Flint hung up and sighed. He walked over to the counter
where the
rest of his friends were, and put his Pokeballs on the tray to give
to
Joy.
"Hey, what's wrong, Flint?" asked Ollie. "You look kinda down."
"Well, you would too if you found out that your rivals and your
biggest
rival had twenty and more Pokemon than you did, and that they're already
on their way to the next city."
"That's gotta kill a guy," Shari said.
"Yeah," agreed Jackie. "It must suck."
After they all got their Pokemon back, Flint said, "Well, I'm
off to
the gym. Anyone wanna come and watch?"
"Yeah, I'll guess I'll go," said Ollie.
"Don't you wanna help out Nurse Joy again?"
"Nah, not this time. Me and the girls have decided to all come
along
and cheer you on."
"You're all coming?"
Jackie and Shari nodded.
"Okay. Let's get'm, Pikachu."
Pikachu looked up at him. "Pika! Chu!" (Yes! Let's!)
So they left the Pokemon center and headed towards the Saffron
City
gym.
