Episode VI- The Volcanobadge, Part II
by SPOT4
David and Todd walked out of the Police Station, and down the street towards the Gym. They were both tired, and neither one of them felt the urge to talk. Finally, David broke the silence. "I just hope that Koga believes everything we tell him about Safari Zone."
Todd smirked and looked down the street at what was left of the Safari Zone, still smoldering. "I don't think we'll have much of a problem proving it." They arrived at the Gym, and walked in. It looked like no one was there. Todd closed the door behind him. "Koga!! Come on!! We need to talk to you!!" He started to walk down one of the hallways, David following. "I know the directions to Koga's battle room. I keep trying to fight him and win his Soul Badge, but my birds always lose! One of these days, I'm going to beat him!"
David smiled. "I think we're getting close. I can hear someone shouting commands to their Pokemon."
Todd stopped and listened. "It sounds like Koga! Let's hurry and see who he's battling!" He started running down the hallway, leaving David trailing.
"Hey, wait up!" He saw Todd turn the corner, and stop. He caught up and started panting. "Don't do that to me!" Todd just stared in amazement. David looked up into the battle room. There Koga was, standing on one side of the battle field, and on the other side was another Koga! David stepped into the room. "What's going on here? It's a little early for Halloween."
The Koga on his right stopped fighting and looked over. His eyes widened. "You! You weren't supposed to make it out of Safari Zone! How'd you escape Sarah?"
The Koga on his left pointed over at the imposter. "This man tried to take my place as the Gym Leader here by trying to become me! He will learn not to meddle!! Koffing!! Finish it off with a Tackle!!" The Koffing raised into the air and slammed into the other Koga's Koffing, bringing it to the floor.
The other Koga whipped out a Pokeball. "Koffing, return!!"
David stepped into the batlle arena before either Koga could make another move. He turned towards the Koga on his right. "You knew that Sarah was going to try to get me? You're not just an imposter, you're from Team Rocket!!"
The Koga on his right ripped off the ninja's cloak he was wearing, revealing a white shirt with a large red "R" on the front. "It seems I'm outnumbered, doesn't it? Three against one just isn't fair. I guess I'm going to have to call for backup!" Withing seconds, two more "R" bearing trainers shot around the corner. They sided with their teammate, and pulled out Pokeballs. "It's all or nothing, guys! Let's take this group out!"
The Rocket member on the right shot out his Pokeball. "Koffing, go!!"
The Rocket member on the left flung his Pokeball into the arena. "Grimer, go!!"
The other Koga tossed his into the air. "Weezing, go!! Ha! It seems we've got you in a rather sticky situation! Koffing, Grimer, Weezing, Smog Attack now!!" All three Pokemon emitted a thick fog of poisonous gases.
David cleared the air in front of him and pulled out a Pokeball. "I think you Rocket members may have forgotten something! Vulpix, go!!" The small, fox-like creature waved its six tails to fan the gases back at its enemies. "You seem to have forgotten that these poison gases are extremely flammable! Vulpix, Fire Spin!!" The Vulpix heated up and blasted fire out of its mouth, igniting the gases in the room. A loud explosion lit the room.
As the smoke cleared, the three Rocket members had already recalled their Pokemon and were in the process of trying to escape the Gym. David spun around as they ran into the glass maze. "We'll lose them in there!"
Todd whipped out a few Pokeballs. "Not if I can help it!! Fearow, Spearow, Pidgeot, go and get those Team Rocket members!!" The three birds flew out into the maze, heading each toward seperate targets. "Let's go see what my birds found!" After a quick search of the maze, they came upon the three Rocket members shouting and trying to hit the birds as they attacked.

As the trio walked away from the Police Station after turning the Rocket members in, they headed towards the sea. They stood on the shoreline, and David told Koga about all that had happened. "And that's the whole thing up to this point, Koga. The only reason I came this way was because I was looking for help. I ended up in a whole different episode."
Koga nodded. "Things have not been exactly normal around here, that's for sure. You say you're after the Volcanobadge?" David nodded. "Then you'll be running into Blaine in Cinnabar Island. Please, take this Pokeball to him. Tell him that I happened to be in the mountains and I found it. I think he'll know what it is. Give it to him with my regards."
David accepted the Pokeball, and put it into his backpack. "Then I have to be off. It's only a few more days until Rocket gets the badges they need to control Encompass." He pulled a Pokeball out of his pocket. "Charizard, come out!" As he got on the Charizard's back and took off, his friends waved goodbye to him.
/////////////////////////////////
Chaizard landed on the coast of Cinnibar Island, and David slid off.  He looked around to try to find the Gym, and he spotted it across the street. The island looked like it was inhabited by only a few people, contrasting the bustling Fuchsia City he had just left. He put Charizard back into its Pokeball to rest, and he headed over to the Gym. Once inside, he found the battle arena quickly, and started calling for Blaine.
A door slammed on the other side of the arena, and a tall man in what seemed to be a lab coat walked in. "You've come to challenge me, I presume?"
David fished out the Pokeball that Koga had given him and tossed it to the man. "More of a delivery, really. You're Blaine?" Blaine nodded and deftly caught the Pokeball. "That's a gift from the Gym Leader in Fushcia, Koga. He says he found it in the mountains, and that you would know what it is."
Blaine looked down at the Pokeball that he held in his hands. "The mountains, hum?" He smirked. "Was it that long ago?"
David pulled a Pokeball out of his backpack. "Two Pokemon per trainer, trainer must surrender to stop the fight, right? Listen, I don't know about you, but I'm really in a hurry to get this badge and get out of here. It's a long story."
Blaine put the Pokeball into his pocket, and whipped out another. "All right, if you're in a hurry, let's make this fast. REALLY fast. Rapidash, go!!" The tall unicorn reared back and whinneyed as it came out of the ball.
David launched the Pokeball. "I can beat that! Growlithe, go!!" The tiger-like puppy barked at the Rapidash as it landed.
Blaine started the attack. "Rapidash, Tail Whip!" The Rapidash shot past the Growlithe, waving its tail and leaving a trail of fire. "Rapidash, Stomp!" The Rapidash started to charge at the little Growlithe as it cowered on the floor.
David watched the Rapidash head towards Growlithe. "Growlithe, Agility!" The Growlithe jumped up and sprung out of the way of the Rapidash as it passed him. "Growlithe, Take Down!!" The Growlithe lowered its head and shot at the Rapidash, not giving it a chance to move. The horse toppled over on it side, and struggled to get back up. "Quick, Growlithe, Bite!!" The dog swiftly covered the Rapidash with litle nips, and a few hard bites.
The Rapidash had had enough. It just lay on the floor, not wanting to get up to fight again. Blaine pulled out a Pokeball. "Good try, Rapidash." He fingered the Pokeball from Koga in his pocket. He didn't want to try to use it. Blaine pulled out another Pokeball, and prepared to fire it into the arena. "Arca... what in the world?" All of the lights had gone out in the arena. "Hey, whose idea of a joke is this?"
David recalled Growlithe very quickly, and a figure dropped from the ceiling. "Remeber me?" a female voice said. "To protect the world from devastation, unite all peoples within our nation, denounce the evils of truth and love, extend our reach to the stars above, Sarah!" A thick smoke filled the room, and both David and Blanie dropped to the floor to avoid it. "Team Rocket! Blast off at the speed of light! Surrender now," the voice paused for emphasis, "or prepare to fight! Nice seeing you, David!"
The lights came back on, and David and Blaine were left wondering what had just happened. David looked up at the ceiling. "Blaine, your arena! It's built like a volcano with a hole in the top! Sarah just got in from there! Quick, and check! Do you still have your Volcanobadge?"
Blaine pointed to the side of his coat. "Of course I do." He looked down to where it was supposed to be. "Or not! That girl made off with my badge! What are we going to do?"
David pulled out Charizard's Pokeball. "Forget the fight! I've got to go after her! Charizard, go!!" The dragon was still exhausted from the flight to Cinnibar, and it could barely raise its wings into the air. "Charizard...." David recalled it to its Pokeball. "Oh, man! I have to hurry, or Team Rocket is going to take over the world! Charizard is my only means of transportation." He sat down and looked out of the gaping hole in the ceiling.
Blaine pulled the Pokeball out of his pocket, and rolled it on the ground over to David. "This Pokemon has a history of helping people. Once, so long ago, it helped me when I was lost in the mountains. Now, it has a chance to help you. Please, take it." David looked down at the Pokeball.

Minutes later, David was soaring off into the sky in the grip of Moltres, the legendary bird of fire. "Thanks for the lift, Moltres! Off to where this will finally come to an end! Let's go to Mount Moon!!"
