Episode IV- The Boulderbadge
by WETWEB
"I'm finally here!" Ron said as he went up the stairs to the
Pewter City Gym.
But when he got to the door, it flew open, smashing Ron behind
it. "Thanks a lot, SUCKER!" a boy yelled, running toward the huge mountain
looming on the horizon. Brock, the gym leader, came out and put a sign
out in fornt of the gym, then he walked back inside, closing the door behind
him. Ron fell to the ground. He got up with a moan and went to the sign:
CLOSED UNTIL
FURTHER NOTICE
Ron ran into the gym. "Hey!" he shouted. Brock looked up. "Why
is the gym closed?!?"
Brock sighed, "It's closed due to lack of badges. We're all out,
and the next shipment won't be for another three weeks. Sorry."
"WHAT?!" Ron shouted, "I can't wait that long! All Pokemon as
we know them depend on this!"
Brock stared at Ron. "Uh... right, kid." he said, "You're just
like that last kid who was in here. He said something about all of the
Pokemon, too."
"Really? What?"
Brock thought for a minute. "He said that he could control all
of the Pokemon with just three badges and a Moon Stone. He was a real nutter,
but he had some mean Ground Pokemon!"
Ron gasped. "Derrick!"
"Who?" Brock asked. But Ron was already running out of the gym.
"I should've listened to my mom and become a breeder," Brock sighed, shaking
his head. "But now I'm stuck dealing with all these weirdos."

Ron got to the foot of Mt. Moon just before nightfall. He heard
a voice, and walked toward it. Up ahead was a campfire, and Derrick polishing
the Boulderbadge. Ron hid behind a bush and listened to Derrick talk to
himself. "I can't believe how easy this is!", Derrick said. "Just think
what Jean-Luc and Sarah will think! Sarah will be pleased with me! For
once... I hope..."
"Wow, he IS a nutter." Ron thought, "but I'm the nutcracker."
Ron leaped out from his hiding place.
"What the-" Derrick exclaimed, "You! I knew this was too easy!
No matter, though. You'll never get the badge!"
"Oh yeah?" Ron yelled, "Onix, go!!!"
"Oh, a fight then." Derrick said, "Rhydon, go!!!" The two huge
beasts stared each other down. "Rhydon, Take Down!" "RHY-DON!"Rhydon charged
straight at Onix. The stone serpent arched its body. The Rhydon ran right
underneath it and took down a tree.
"Onix, Slam!" The Onix brought itself down with all it's
might, landing on the Rhydon and knocking the wind out of it. "Good job,
Onix! Now Bind!" Onix wrapped itself around the Rhydon and squeezed. Rhydon
tried to struggle it's way free, but soon fell limp, gasping for air.
"Stop!" Derrick exclaimed. "I give up!"
"First the badge!" Ron said.
"Fine!" Derrick said. He reached into his pocket and threw it
out past Ron. "There! Now let him go!"
"Onix, stop." The serpent uncoiled itself from the Rhydon.
The rhinocerous lumbered it's way back to Derrick. Derrick jumped
on the Rhydon. "I have no more business here!" he said. "Rhydon, Dig!"
The Rhydon burrowed into the ground, kicking up a huge mound of dirt and
rock, which quickly subsided as it went deeper. A hole was all that remained.
Ron ran behind him and picked up the badge. "Yes! I finally have
it!" he exclaimed. He held it up to the moonlight. Then his eyes narrowed.
"Wait... this is only a rock in a Rare Candy Wrapper! Why, that two-bit,
coniving..." Ron threw the rock as hard as he could. He peered down the
hole. "Onix!" The serpent came over to Ron. Ron hopped on it's back. "Follow
them!" Ron yelled. "ONIX!" it bellowed, diving into the hole, having no
idea where it led.
