Episode XI- Epilogue
by SPOT4
The three trainers, respectively dirty, wet, and the last one
slightly singed, watched as Jean-Luc, Sarah, and Derrick were placed in
the back end of a squad car, complaining all the way. "Ow! Get off me!"
"Watch out!" "Watch out yourself!"
As the car drove off towards the prison, Professor Oak joined
the trio. "Looks like you three have had qutie an adventure!" Along with
Oak was a woman policeman, whom Tony thought looked very familiar.
David nodded. Ron said what everyone was thinking. "I think an
adventure would be an understatement, but you guys have all lost me on
something. How in the world did you switch Encompass for that Butterfree,
and get yourselves out here? I thought you had been kidnapped, Professor!"
Oak smiled. "What happened here is really a case of a little
ploy that worked a little too well."
Tony frowned. "What do you mean by that?"
Oak continued, "That Butterfree had been there all along."
David was confused. "What?! How is that possible?"
Oak went on. "Remember that day when I brought home Encompass?
When I was out in the field that day, I spotted on a hill adjacent to me,
a group of police. They called me over, and asked me to take part in what
they called "Operation: Encompass". They said they had been trying to get
a hold of me earlier that week, but decided that out here they had a better
chance of not being seen."
The policewoman nodded. "That's right. We have been on the trail
of Giovanni for years, and we will capture him someday. We knew we needed
a ploy. Something to grab his attention, and get him somewhere that we
can be ready and waiting. We thought of Encompass, which everyone knows
is a legend, and made it sound like one had been discovered. Professor
Oak was the perfect person to pull this off, too. Think of it from Giovanni's
perspective. Oak's a old scientist, who spends entire days in a lab, and,
no offense, is not known for having either a good security system, or very
strong Pokemon."
Oak looked down on the policewoman. "And so we set off for our
Pokemon camping trip. I figured that we would be ambushed, and that there
would be a fight. I purposly brought some of my weaker Pokemon to make
it a bit easier for them to get the Encompass. Just in case you would doubt
my finding of Encompass, I had a prepared story ready, as to how I had
caught it."
Tony shook his head. "That story sounded so real, too. So then,
what? The three of us fought and beat the Team Rocket trio, and they kidnapped
you, but you didn't bother telling us that Encompass wasn't real before
we took off across the country trying to stop Rocket?"
Oak put his hands up in a slight guarding position. "Now, listen.
I really had to have your reactions be perfect. What if I had told you?
You three wouldn't have fought anyone for those badges and Giovanni would
have suspected something."
David almost grabbed Oak's lab coat. "Prof! I was almost killed!!
Twice!!!"
Oak tried to smirk. "Chalk it up to experience?"
Ron was still trying to finish out the story. "So then, we went
all-out to get these badges, and each of us get to the badge, but lose
them to the Rocket members. What if we had gotten those badges?"
The policewoman looked over to Ron. "If know Giovanni, he would
probably have tried to use Encompass anyway. Luckily for us, a Butterfree
isn't affected by any of those items."
Tony was confused. "So, how did that Butterfree get there in
the first place?"
Oak smiled. "The police asked me to donate a Pokemon for the
cause on the day that they met me in the field. I happened to have just
caught a Butterfree, and I gave that one to them, which they labeled as
Encompass."
David rubbed his chin. "Wasn't there a chance that Giovanni would
have opened the Pokeball to make sure it was real?"
Oak nodded. "I had already thought of that. When they were questioning
me about Encompass, I slipped in that the Pokemon had to be resting for
an extremely long time inside of it's Pokeball if it was expected to perform
its Encompass Command. You should have seen them after that. They were
so careful to make sure that the little Encompass was perfectly comfortable
so that it would work for them. That Butterfree has never seen a better
time."
The policewoman laughed. "After that, we waited for the day when
Encompass was supposed to have reached full strength. We were hoping to
nab Giovanni as soon as the Butterfree had shown itself, and the shock
was just setting in. We never expected him to actually use that Butterfree
to put us all to sleep."
Ron rolled his eyes. "Listen, old trainer's tip: if the opponent
uses Sleep Powder, and you don't want to fall asleep with your Pokemon,
HOLD YOUR BREATH!!! We could really have used your help trying to capture
those three Rocket goons."
Tony nodded. "And it's not really like we had a chance in catching
Giovanni anyway. As soon as you were all asleep, he just up and disappeared."
The policewoman frowned. "He seems to do that a lot. You can't
believe how hard it is to track him. You three kids got lucky tonight.
That was probably the only time that you'll ever actually see Giovanni."
David thought about it all. "This is all just so amazing."
The policewoman looked over to where the squad car had driven
off, "Also, if you three hadn't been here, we wouldn't have even caught
these three Rocket members. Do you realize that you are all heroes?"
Ron liked the thought of that. "Wow!"
"No," Tony disagreed, shaking his head, "we're not. We're the
Pokemon Task Force!"

Derrick, Sarah, and Jean-Luc were crammed in the back seat of
the squad car, each almost sitting on each other's lap, which Sarah was
definatley not pleased about. The car was nearing Pallet. Jean-Luc motioned
to his friends. With one smooth motion, he scooped up his belt of Pokeballs
off of the floor with his feet, and snapped one off of his belt. The other
two did the same.
In the morning, one burned out, broken down squad car was found,
along with a few officers who had fainted, on the side of the road to Pallet.

"Victory Over Team Rocket by Pokemon Task Force!" Tony was reading
the headlines of the Pallet Times out loud to his friends as he walked
into the lab that morning. "Hey, did you guys see this article?" He looked
around. The entire lab was trashed, glop everywhere. "What in the world
happened in here?!"
David pulled out his mop again. "Ron still thought he could beat
me."
Tony went to touch the slop, but it smelled awful. "What did
you use? Buckets of mud?"
Ron got the window cleaner. "A couple of Muks, okay?" He began
scrubbing the windows. "But this time, I DID beat David!"
Tony was walking to the closet to get out his rags, again as
David retaliated. "Oh, right! I think not!"
He started rubbing down the tables, again, as Ron threw some
of the glop at David, hitting him directly across the shoulder. "I did
too beat you!!"
David looked down at his shoulder, scooped up some of the stuff
from the floor and lobbed it at Ron. He missed, and Tony had to sidestep
it as it flew by. He continued to scrub. David grabbed more of the stuff.
"Oh, I missed that time, but I won't miss you now!" He launched another
shot, and Ron started to dodge it, but he slipped, falling face first into
the goop, and then David's shot landed on top of him.
Ron stood up, wiping his face off as David laughed hysterically.
"Oh, yeah?!?!"
He charged at David, barely missing Tony, who was still scrubbing.
He took a break and watched his two friends yelling, beating each other
up, and throwing the muck at one another. "Yes, sir," he smiled as he went
back to work, dodging another globular missle. "Things are finally getting
back to normal around here."
