Mew and Mewtwo,
as well as other mysteries
by Kathbar
Disclamier: All Poke'mon, Ash Ketchum, Misty, Brock, Jessie, and James are owned by Nintendo
and not me, nor do I claim them, so you don't get no reason to sue me for nothin. Ok?
The only character I own here is Terio Dremacus, and you'll see who he is.
Description: Not much is known about Mew and Mewtwo, as well as why Pikachu is so different from
other Pikachus. The answers to those questions, as well as if Ash really likes Misty, are all
revealed here.
It has been just a day after Ash Ketchum defeated the Elite Four and became the greatest Pokemon
Master of all time. After that fateful day, Ash, Misty, Brock, and Pikachu now discuss what
are they going to do.
At the inn of Viridian City....
"So what are you gonna do now that you've become the Pokemon Master, Ash?" Misty asked.
"Well, I heard that some mysterious Pokemon are out there waiting to be discovered, and I'm
gonna go see for myself what they are, but first, I'd better settle down back at Pallet, since
it's been a long time the last time I've been there." said Ash.
"I'm going back to Pewter City and help my father raise the kids," said Brock. "What about you
Misty?"
"I know I'm NOT going back to my sisters. They'll just treat me badly like they did years ago,"
said Misty.
"Well, you can always stay at my place," Ash offered. "Until you can think of something, of
course."
Ash thought 'I've liked Misty even at the start. But how do I say it? I can't take the risk.
There's no telling what she would do.'
Misty thought, 'God, Ash is cute. But I can't just say it right here and now, it might
ruin the friendship we have now.' After a short silence, she accepted Ash's offer.
Pikachu thought to himself, 'So it IS true! Ash and Misty both like each other! I can sense it.
They like each other, but they don't want to say so. I wonder how are they going to reveal their
feelings for one another?'
Just them a large boom came from outside.
"What was that?!" Ash said, and quickly ran outside to check it out. Misty, Brock, and Pikachu
hurried after him.
Ash, Misty, Brock, and Pikachu all ran out of the inn to see a shocking revelation.
At the center of town, a kid slightly older than him, was firing energy shots right from his
hand.
The kid turned around and saw the group that was looking in disbelief.
Then he just realized something.
"You there." He pointed at Ash. "Are you Ash Ketchum?"
"Who wants to know?"
"The name's Terio Dremacus. But it doesn't matter." Terio said, and a blue aura started appearing
around him.
"Finally, I've found you. Now it's time to settle unfinished business." He gave a smirk, and
started to glow white, like he was changing shape.
Ash did not know what Terio was talking about. "What do you mean 'unfinished business? I've
never seen you before in my--" It was when Terio completely transformed did he stop in
mid-sentence.
Before Ash, Misty, Brock, and Pikachu, was a legendary Pokemon. The wild Mewtwo.
Mewtwo stood still and silent. Then, he raised his right hand, and, with mysterious psychic
powers, suddenly lifted Ash up to the air.
"You should put up more of a fight, my arch-rival!" the Mewtwo suddenly spoke.
Brock and Misty were both surprised that not only a Pokemon was disguised as a kid, but Pokemon
could actually talk.
Mewtwo looked at the both of them and looked at Pikachu. "You humans may be surprised at my
speakng ability, but it's pretty normal to us. Isn't that right Pikachu?" said Mewtwo.
Pikachu said nothing. "But since you won't live to tell the tale of us, I guess I might as
well explain everything." Mewtwo still had Ash hanging in the air while he spoke. Ash quit
struggling and listened, since he wouldn't be coming down anytime soon.
Mewtwo started his story. "First let me explain about me. Or rather, me at this era. I was a
Pokemon who was unjustly captured by the humans you call scientists and sent to the lab of
Cinnabar Island. They tried to extract my powers and try to make me their living war machine
for battle. I also knew that Pikachu you call a friend. He was one of my roomates, so to speak.
In fact, that Pikachu was the first one to be tested in an experiment that induces a high I.Q.
into the specimen so the ability to speak was achieved. But the scientists said he was a failure. They tested me next, but it
was quickly found that I already had such high intellect.
But those pitiful
worms were so stupid they believed I was restrained enough so I could not escape. I proved those
vermin wrong. I escaped from the lab, and, well the rest is history. I assume my roomate Pikachu
escaped as well. But it seems you've been caught again, I see."
Ash was still in the dark. "You still didn't explain how you know me the way you think!"
Mewtwo did not change his expression. He continued. "About 80 million years ago, we Pokemon
coexited with the humans in an advanced age. The world flourished because of us! Yes, all of
us could speak in the English language like our so-called human brothers. We also had
high intelligence as well. Unfortunately, one single event was about to change everything.
One year before out separation, a great war struck between the human scum and us Pokemon. It
started because of one stupid reason just forgotten, and it tore the nation apart. I was the
leader. And my brother was also the captain.
We lost the war, but my brother and I created a treaty to gain whatever rights our race could
achieve. It said, 'All Pokemon must abolish the language of the humans and live separately,
and not have any contact with them ever again. In return, the humans must release all
Pokemon that are prisoners in their prison forts.' The humans reluctantly agreed."
"But that doesn't explain how you know Ash," said Misty.
Mewtwo sighed and started again. "I was just getting to that. About a year after our loss, we
Pokemon knew that someone had to take the blame for losing the war. I said it was my worthless
brother. All he ever could think of was of peace anyway. After several fights, we both turned
into human form, and continued the fight. And now that I have found my brother, I will now
destroy him!" He now looked at Ash.
"What are talking about? I have no powers such as those!" said Ash.
Mewtwo remained expressionless. "You may not notice it now, because those powers are sleeping at
this point. My brother never really was strong anyway!" Mewtwo lifted Ash higher than before,
about 100 feet higher to be exact! He was ready to slam Ash to the ground.
Suddenly, while Ash was falling, a red aura surrounded him, and started to transform as well.
All Brock, Misty, and Pikachu could do was watch and gasp.
Ash transformed too. Into another legendary Pokemon, Mew.
Ash, now in Mew form, remembered everything from the past, and became aware where he is now.
"You still want to fight with me, brother? It seems your attitude hasn't changed at all since
the past 80 million years!" Mew said.
"Idiot!" said Mewtwo. "You are STILL the reason our dead allies lost the war against the wimpy
humans! Why do you think I've tracked you up to this point?!"
"If you despise humans so much," Mew started, "why did you disguise youself as one? You know as
well as I do that it was a Pokemon, US, that started the war in the first place! If you hadn't
impulsively fought back, we would have found the real culprit and reason, and this lifelong
rivalry wouldn't have started in the first place!" Mew was still speaking in Ash's voice.
"You were always the peacekeping sap," said Mewtwo. "Look at out race now! They are weak! Forced
to SERVE the humans unwillingly! Do you think YOU would enjoy that, being a slave and responding
to every whim to those weakling humans?!"
Pikachu then stepped in. Surprisingly, he started to speak as well, in a high-pitched squeaky
voice. "Listen to your brother, Mewtwo! Why do you think I stuck with my friends, who are humans!
There is nothing wrong with them? Well, there ARE some that are evil. You who has experienced
life when humans and Pokemon coexisted like they were no different from each other should know
that!"
Mewtwo glared at his brother, then at Pikachu.
After a long silence, Mewtwo spoke. "Ha! You're just one of the lucky ones. There are other
Pokemon that are enslaved unlike you! At least only you have freedom!"
"Wrong again," said Pikachu, and pulled out Ash's Pokeballs. Charizard, Squirtle, Bulbasaur,
and Pidgeotto all came out. Mewtwo was sensing what Pikachu was trying to do.
"Trying to get a difference of opinion? It doesn't matter now." said Mewtwo, and focused his
sights on Mew.
Mewtwo fired a psychic beam of energy at his brother, but Mew countered it with his own. Both
were struggling to overpower the other. Mewtwo's anger increased as he thought of the past and
present; the killings that the humans did, the idea that Pokemon should be contained in balls today
mysteriously, he started to gain an advantage over his brother. Mew thought of the past and
present as well; he thought of how humans and Pokemon coexisted peacefully, and how free and
happy Pokemon were today, outside or inside Pokeballs; and Mew regained his strength.
Then Mew thought of something his brother did not expect.
"Misty," said Mew, still with Ash's voice, "in case we don't make it through this, or rather, I
don't make it through this, I just want you to know that I....I..."
Misty's heart pounded loudly. Did the Ash inside him really like her?
"You what....Ash?"
"I....I...I love you, Misty. I...didn't want to admit it....I always thought you hated me,
but--"
"No, I have something to admit too. I...I....I love you too Ash. I, too, was also scared, and
didn't have the courage to admit it."
Everyone was shocked at this scene. Brock, Pikachu, even Mewtwo was surprised. "IMPOSSIBLE!"
screamed Mewtwo. "You're a Pokemon, and you...you love a HUMAN?!" Mewtwo's anger has reached
its peak, and he thought he would finish off his 'brother' here and now.
But, for some strange reason, Mew's power began to rise, and even grow stronger than Mewtwo's.
It finally came to a point where Mewtwo finally used up his strength and got knocked down by
his own brother.
"What the?!" Mewtwo knew that wasn't supposed to happen. He knew that they couldn't ever destroy
each other....right?
Suddenly, a flash of light blinded all, and all of a sudden, Mewtwo was no more.
And what's more, Ash was lying on the ground, in human form, and unconsious.
Misty, Brock, and Pikachu quickly took Ash to the hospital. After waiting all night, in the
morning, the doctor finally had results.
"How is he, doctor?" asked Misty.
"He'll be all right," he said. "He's just exhausted, no serious injuries. You can see him if you
want to now."
"Thanks."
Brock decided to leave the two alone. "Uh, Pikachu and I will just leave you two for awhile."
"Pika pika chu (Yeah, go ahead.)" said Pikachu.
Ash slept peacefully in bed, now wondering what should he do. He remembered he finally admitted
his feelings about Misty to her, and wondered what should he do now.
He turned around as Misty came in the room.
"Hi Misty," said Ash.
"Are you feeling all right?"
"I'm fine. You?"
"I'm fine too."
A long silence followed.
"Did you really mean what you said back there?" asked Misty. "You really loved me?"
"Yes, I did. I was too afraid to tell you earlier. I thought you'd just leave me, slap me, or
just laugh at me. I couldn't risk the odds. But when I was down to my last legs, I was even
more scared not to tell you at all. So I...." Misty cut him off.
"Oh, Ash..." said Misty, and hugged Ash before she could lose her nerve.
After that ten second moment, Misty gazed into Ash's eyes. He gazed at Misty's eyes.
They moved closer to each other.
Closer.
Closer.
And finally, kissed each other. They kept kissing for most of the day.
Hours leter, they stopped to catch their breath.
"Still friends?" Misty asked.
"Friends. And much more."
They kissed again for the rest of they day.
Unknown to either Ash and Misty, Mewtwo, in human form, watched them from atop another building.
'So that's the power of love,' Mewtwo thought. 'You were always the peaceful and wise one,
brother...'
With that he flew off into the beautiful sunset....
The end (maybe?)
