Ash, Misty, and Brock meet Austin and Coolma

Part 3: The secret of the Riccochet Brothers

It was morning and Ash, Misty, Brock, Pikachu and their new friends Austin and Coolma Riccochet and Austin's sandslash Killer Jr were finishing a night's sleep on

Fuchsia Beach. They had to make do with a bed of sand because they had been kicked

out of the Pokecenter. Misty is the only one up so early. She woke up because she was

Togepy's new mother whether she liked it or not, and now was it's feeding time.

"Ohhh," groaned Misty waking up to her watch alarm. "you're a cute little

pokemon, but you sure do need a lot of attention."

Misty pulled out a bottle of milk from her bag and gently warmed it on the dying

ashes of the fire. She nudged the nipple of the bottle towards the sleeping egg pokemon's

mouth.

"Togepiiiiii" sighed the little pokemon as it stared it's breakfast.

Misty looked over at the sleeping Ash. How cute he looked just laying in his

sleeping bag. She wished that she could tell him how she felt, but she had decided that it

would be easier to drop little hints so she wouldn't seem too straight forward.

"Oh well girl," she thought to herself, "better late than never. If he likes you, he'll

come around at the right time."

Meanwhile Ash was dreaming the exact same topic. He was sitting on a beach

with Misty watching the sun go down. Misty was the prettiest girl in his mind because

she was smart as well as beautiful. He leaned over to kiss her when-

"Hey! Guys, it's morning!" shouted Coolma, "common, wake up!"

"Okay bro, this has gone far enough! there is no way I am letting you get away

with this kind of wake up call again!" growled his older brother Austin.

At that, Austin picked up Coolma by the collar of his pajamas and pushed him

into the damp sand of the shore.

"Ha, that didn't hurt!" teased Coolma, but just then a wave washed up soaking the

little boy. "Yeow! Cold, it's cold!" Coolma screamed and jumped onto the dry sand

completely soaked.

"Man, anyone can tell you two are brothers." Brock joked.

"That otta' teach him about respecting his elders," Austin grumbled.

"Hey, now that everyone's awake, we better get to sailing." Ash said.

Then they saw a sign that they hadn't read before. It read "This beach is owned by

the town of Fuchsia, no pokemon surfing allowed. Please do your surfing from Port

Parasol."

"Port Parasol? When did they build that? It's not on my map." said Brock.

"I'll find it," said Austin as he pulled out a black plastic notebook organizer. He

clipped a weird device on it which looked like a socket wrench crossed with an antenna.

"This is my pokedex pro organizer." said Austin, "I bought it at a pokemon convention. It

has a little satellite antenna so we know where we are and a pokedex built in. It cost me

four years of allowance, but it's pretty handy. Here, I'll show you."

Austin opened it and pressed in his code. The machine began to hum. Then

sprang into a voice which sounded like a pokedex.

"Greetings! I am Pokemap four-point-zero. I am owned by Austin Riccochet for

use on his pokemon journey. Please wait while I position a satellite... ...satellite J.J.R.

positioned." Then, the screen showed a large map of the surrounding towns showing all

the roads and rivers in the area. Fuchsia beach was covered with a little cartoon of a

man. "Where is your destination?" the voice asked in a mechanical tone.

Austin punched in the word "Parasol."

"Parasol City," the voice said "a small town located on the south coast, it is the

only city on the island who holds water races, it is also a route to Cinnabar island." the

voice stopped and a blinking light appeared on the screen over a town a few miles down

the coast.

"Wow, how come you didn't tell us about this?" asked Brock.

"Well, I, uh didn't want to uh, what I mean to say is that I was afraid that you guys

would question me about how I got it and I would have had to tell you-"

He was cut short by a very unwelcome sound.

"Prepared for trouble?"

"Yea, well you'd better make it double!"

A giant Meowth-shaped balloon floated overhead.

"To protect the world from devastation!" Jessie cackled.

"To unite all people with in our nation!" yelled James.

"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"

"To extend our reach to the stars above!"

"Jessie"

"James"

"Team rocket-"

"Pidgeotto! Go, attack that balloon!" shouted Ash.

"Oh yea, Jessie, now I remember why we stopped using this thing." declared

James as the bird pokemon ripped through the delicate fabric of the balloon.

"Meowwwwwth!" screamed Meowth as they shot away and crashed into some

trees.

"Good work Pidgeotto, return" said Ash as Pidgeotto disappeared into his ball.

"Those guys just don't quit!" complained Brock.

"Yea," said Misty, "Why can't they just catch pokemon like everyone else."

"They really need to get a life." said Coolma.

The team got all their stuff together and Coolma started a short search for his

snorlax Sloth. Once he was found, he was collected into his ball and the team started to

walk down the path which led to Parasol City. Along the way, Ash noticed that Austin

had a relieved look on his face as he pointed his Pokedex Pro at all the pokemon he saw

so he could have them catalogued in the memory. It was then that Ash spotted a weird

symbol on Austin's pokedex. A closer look revealed that it was a corporate logo for a

company called "Ricctronics Corporation."

"That's weird," Ash thought to himself, "I thought that Silph Co. made everything

around here."

Misty looked at Ash as he walked. She wondered why he hadn't showed much

interest in her. "Maybe it's just some stupid guy macho thing." she guessed. She decided

that if she wanted Ash to ask her out that she would have to get his attention first. She

tried to think of something to say. "No," she thought, "I'll ask HIM out. Yea, I'll make

the move," she knew in her heart that they shared the same feelings but Ash always

seemed shy talking to her. She would do it, "This is it" she thought.

"Uh, Ash, can I ask you if-"

She was cut off as a red jeep tore out of the forest and blocked their path.

"Prepare for-" Jessie started.

"Go Killer Jr!" Austin shouted, "They won't get first move today!"

"YES! A battle," screamed Coolma, "Gooooo, Clefable!"

"I choose you Pikachu!" yelled Ash.

"STARMIE GO!" followed Misty.

"Onix, let's get 'em!" commanded Brock.

The team of pokemon stood in a row, facing Team Rocket's jeep.

"Uh oh Jessie!" James whined, outnumbered!

"Run!" screamed Meowth.

The jeep roared to life and tore down the path.

"No way!" Austin yelled. "Not this time Rockets!"

He pulled out a strange metal gun and fired a blue beam at the jeep. The jeep

iced over and froze solid. Jessie, Meowth, and James were frozen inside. Austin

holstered his gun in a shoulder holster he had on. He turned to his friends.

"Listen, I can't lie to my friends." he started. "I'm not just a pokemon trainer, I'm a

secret agent employed by my father's business. Actually, I kind of employed myself.

You see, I heard about this perfect pokemon, a great one that can't be beat. I wanted one,

so I listened in on phone calls and read my father's e-mail to find information. This

pokemon is called a Mew. Only one was found, so we tried to clone some Mews for

breeding. We couldn't get it right. We only managed to make a slightly weaker, but still

really good pokemon called a Mewtwo. But the Mewtwo was too powerful, and because

of us, it was also too smart. It ran away and I have decided that I need to prove my worth

to my father by finding it. I know a guy who is a scientist at my father's lab. His name is

Jeff Camsin and he gave me all of these gizmos." Austin opened his bag, revealing a

bunch of stuff which Ash had never seen before. "These are tools and weapons for

pokemon trainers to use if they can't catch pokemon. There's my ice beam gun, my

pokedex pro, my hologram projector, and this." he pulled out a purple and clear pokeball

with two buttons on it rather that one. It was labeled with an M. "This is a master ball.

It locks down in two places and no pokemon can open it from the inside. We tested it by

capturing grenades inside and detonating them. Those didn't come close to opening it so

we did some more tests and found that not even a high level Mew can open it. It's

physically impossible to open unless you press these two buttons with your fingers. This

one is only activated by my hand though, so only I can use it."

"Wow," said Brock, "and here I was thinking that you were just a normal kid."

"Well good job bro, so much for our secret identity!" complained Coolma. "God,

just when I was keeping our secret, you blurt it out to these kids! I can't believe this!"

"So, this whole time you've been keeping this a secret?" asked Misty.

"Yea, you couldn't trust us enough to tell us?" Ash said offended.

"I was going o tell you this morning but Team Rocket cut in." Austin explained.

"So, I guess that you must not want us to go to Cinnabar then." said Brock. "We

should probably just find the Mewtwo."

"Yea, actually, that's why I told you guys." Austin said.

The team discussed the situation a while and decided to keep going until they hit

Parasol city. Coolma cell-phoned the police and told them where Team Rocket was

frozen and the team went on their way. They arrived at 3:00pm and stopped by a Burger

Bin for a bite.

"Now, listen, not a word to anyone about this." Coolma said. "That includes you

Pikachu. I assume Togepy is too young to actually speak, so I don't have to give a

warning to her."

"Pikachu, pi pi pi? (So, Killer Jr you're an agent too?)"

"Slash-slash san slas san sanslash sandslash sand (You bet, and so is Clefable and

the rest of the guys)"

"Well, now that you know, I guess we can use our equipment more often." said

Coolma finding something good about the situation.

"Yea, and now Team Rocket is out of the way for good." Misty said happily, "I've

wanted to do that ever since they tried to rob that pokecenter in Viridian"

"They're not done yet," said Ash, "There are two more members that we've run

into before, plus we still don't know how many others therre are or who their leader is."

"You don't know!" exclaimed Austin, "Their leader is an ex-gym leader named

Giovanni. We've been dealing with him for years."

"Really?" exclaimed Misty, "You mean there are other Team Rocket members

like Jessie, James, Butch, and Cassidy?"

"Sorry, but there are hundreds, just none as stupid as those guys." said Austin.

"Well, we better rest up, big day tomorrow, we're going to find that Mewtwo!"

** And as we leave our heroes, we now know the truth about the Riccochet

brothers and the truth behind Team Rocket. Hey, where is Team Rocket anyway?

"I can't believe that runt got us again!" said James.

"Shut up and run James." Jessie said as the three cold members of Team Rocket

ran dripping through the woods.

They ran through some bushes as a pack of Growlithe chased them followed by

Officer Jenny on her motorcycle. The out of breath Team Rocket ran out of the woods

and right into the street where as truck delivering pokemon was driving. The truck

carrying pokemon skidded and flipped onto it's side spilling giant pokeballs all over the

place.

"Hey Jessie, look at these" James said.

"Volt-orb!"

"Uh, oh!" gulped James.

The voltorbs exploded sending the trio into orbit.

"It looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!" screamed Jessie and James.

"Meowwwwwwth!" screamed Meowth.
