*~(Authors note: Misty loves Brock but not like LOOOOOVE love. More like how you love your dad or sibling. I want to make that very clear so no one misinterperts this togetherness thing I'm writing. That's why I put in the father figure, little sister, big brother junk. Okay? Understand?GOOD )~*

" We are here today to honor young Ashton Ketchum." Ash stood next to Misty, still invisible to his family and friends. He looked at Misty. She held one long stemmed rose in her hand. She wore nothing but black and she was wearing her hair down. Her face clearly illustrated her inner termoil and pain. To his left was Brock. He too was in al black but he was holding a beautiful rock in his hand. It shined in shades of teal and jade. His face was hard and emotionless. Even the clouds seemed to be in mourning for they cried tears on the many numerous crying faces. Even Gary was there. In his hand he held his badges. All around were Nurse Joys, Officer Jennys, even Professer Oak and the gym trainers were there. Even Team Rocket of all people was there crying solemly. All of these people dressed in black, some with veils, some with umbrellas, and none were too proud to cry. The pastor rose from his podium and closed the ceremony. " Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, earth to earth." Then he wiped his eyes and walked away from the grave giving caring advice and hugs to the mourners. Though still, no one could bear to leave. Gary then walked to the grave and spoke just loud enough for everyone to hear. " Ash... you were my best friend before this stupid journey. And now...now your'e gone. I never realized how good a friend you were. The only thing I cared about was winning. Now that I look back I should of taken advantage of all the opputunities I had to patch up the wonderful friendship that I ruined. I just want you to know if you can hear me now that You are a better trainer than me.. you always were. And if I could go back and change one thing I would of gone back to the first day of pokemon training and told you just how good a friend you really were to me. I'm sorry." He then placed his badges on top of the grave. He also fished his pokedex out of his poket and placed it on the grave along with the badges. " I am no longer a pokemon trainer. I will never try again. I am now defeated. Goodbye Ash." He then walked away shooing off his fan club and ignoring the Gary mobile and walked alone down the road. Then each Jenny and Each Joy approched the casket and each one told a different story and placed something on the coffin. Even if it was something small, a ring, a badge, even money, each had a story behind it. After all the Jennys, Joys, family members and onlookers left Misty and Brock were still left standing.. Brock approched the casket clutching the beautiful gem in his hand. " I'm sorry Ash. . Everyone else had something important to you in some way. all I have is this." He placed the rock on the coffin."It is the most valuable thing I own. I found it when I was camping with my mother before she died. We were looking for tadpoles and Pokemon and there it was. I was very small and my mother said it was going to bring me good luck. Maybe.. maybe it will give you good luck too. I'll miss you buddy " He then stepped back indicating to Misty that it was her turn to say her goodbyes. She walked slowly to the casket step by step. She could almost feel he was near her even though she knew there really wasn't any body in the casket. They just decided to do this as tradition. She went and placed the rose gently on the coffin. " I have nothing but a rose to give to you Ash. I'm sorry. But I wore my hair down for you. I remember you said it looked better this way and I should wear it like this. Well from now on my hair stays down". She placed her scrunchie on the casket along with the rose. " Ash I- I never told you.. I should of but.. I was afraid. I still am but... I care about you Ash. I mean I really care. It always amazed me how gentle and kind you were with your pokemon. I-I had some bad experiences years ago.. maybe that's why I was afraid to tell you, or maybe I was afraid of rejection. I'm sorry. If only I could see your face one more time..." She then bent down and gently kissed the coffin. Then she walked away leaving the spirit Ash standing in awe at the beautiful girl walking away...... in her mind, for the last time. He then wished so bad she could see him. " I CARE ABOUT YOU TOO MISTY!! I.. I care..." he shouted and then whispered to the girl dissapearing over the horizon. He fell to his knees and whispered " I care...." Then he was alone. he went to the casket. He started to examine the things people left on his grave. From the time he resurfaced from the bottom of teh sea after escaping the light to the present time he had found if he concentrated he could hold things again and not just walk through them. But he still could not touch people. He went and opened the casket. He was almost posotive it would be empty but when he looked inside he saw his usual wardrobe sitting there laid out nicely. His mother had done it. He could tell. For some strange reason the casket was unusually long. he then looked in the bottom. His mother had put things in the casket only for Ash to see. She had packed him on his way to the afterlife. He smiled a tear filled smile. She packed the exact same things that she had packed him on the first day of his pokemon journey. Even rubber gloves. He chuckeled. Even those chocolate chip cookies she made for him and him only. Then the tears began to flow as he realized he would never get to taste those wonderful cookies again. He would never get to hug his mother again. He then had a terrible longing. he longed for home. He longed for mom. He wanted to smell her sweet smell , the smell of cookies and hand lotion with a spray of her favorite purfume. He then sensed a presence behind him. He whirlied around only to face a girl. A girl with dark swirling eyes and limp blue hair. " Hello. I'm Marissa." She said. The coldness in her voice starteled Ash. The fact that she could see him was even more surprising.Could she really see him " Yes Ashton Ketchum I can see you." Now that starteled him.he almost screamed. She knew his name?! " I will tell you more later Ash. But first a question." He was about to answer that, no she could not ask him a question for he was about to run in terror but he quickly realized that it wasn't a question but a statement." You better not run in terror Ash. I want to help you. You want to be alive don't you? Well if your'e really that terrified of me just run for terror and you will be in that wandering spirit form forever." This really grabbed Ash's attention. " I-I- could be alive again?!" he screamed eyes opened wide. " Well there is a catch-...." Ash didn't even let her finish. " I don't care!!! I don't care if I have to be a deaf crippled boy with no legs I WANT TO BE ALIVE!!!" This pleased Marissa. Now at least he wouldn't have to know what she planned to use him for untill it was too late. " Okay." Marissa stated. " Whatever......"
AIR!!! Ash almost screamed from the pain in his cheast. He would of
screamed but the pain was so intense he almost passed out. His lungs now
acustomed to being underwater had sprung to life filled with air squeezing
the breath out of him. He fell to the floor unable to control his limbs
that now were twitiching and starting to spasm out of control.Marissa walked
up to him and injected him with something. Soon his eyelids drooped, his
breathing started to regulate and he stopped twitching. He was asleep in
a matter of minutes. Marissa smiled at him. He looked like a baby when
he was sleeping. She levitated him up in the air then down a hidden hallway
in the cavern and through a door on the right. She dropped him lightly
in a bed and placed the sheets and blankets over him with her mind. She
then teleported the contents of the now vanant coffin onto the table next
to Ash. She walked over to the now very much alive young boy eyes
a blaze and bright blue light emitting from each of her fingertips. She
then took her hands and wrapped them around Ash's neck. Strands of light
from her hands wrapped him like ropes untill every square inch of him was
completely covered in the glowing blue light. Then the light turned into
liquid form evaporating into's Ash's skin as if he were a sponge. Then
the light was gone. It had soaked into his very bone structure. She now
had total control of Ash's body. She gave a flick of her hand and he was
suddnely awake and walking around the room. Yes she definately could control
him. But for now.... she thought I will let him be himself.... So she let
him move freely and do as he pleased. Of course Ash had no idea she could
make him move. He was the puppet she was the puppeteer and the puppet had
no idea that there even was a puppeteer! " I'm going to leave you
alone for a moment Ash. Get dressed. I'll be back in a minute." She said
as she started towards the door. " Get dressed? but I am-..." Then Ash
looked down at himself. He just realized it. He had died wearing a tuxedo
and he was still wearing it now. He laughed sheepishly. Then he looked
at the table next to him. The contents of the coffin that his mother had
placed in it were on the table. Even the cookies! He quickly got dressed
as he scarfed down the cookies lavishing over each and every morsel of
chocolate. He could smell! He took a long deep breath of the soft
cookies in his hand and sighed with pleasure. Then he buried his face in
his jacket and took a long smell of home. His mother must of just sewn
this jacket for it smelled like her. For 5 minutes he just sat there breathing
in the scent of his mother. " Ash are you coming?" Marissa yelled from
down the hall. He stuffed the remains of the cookies into his mouth " Coming"
he muffled through the cookie crumbs. He put on his hat as he ran and met
Marissa at the entrance to the massive cave. " So.. uh Marissa? What's
this catch?" He said with a nervous edge on his voice. He had not stopped
to think of what he might have to do while he was still a spirit. Now he
realized he might of made a mistake. But then again... maybe not. He didn't
really realize how much he truly missed those wonderful cookies untill
he stuffed them all in his mouth. " In due time Ash. In due time. The planets
havn't alligned yet. When they do you will see what I need of you." He
scrunched his face in confusion. what do the planets have to do with this
chore I have to do? But yet again he just shrugged the thought off. " What
now Marissa?" he questioned cautiously. She had an intense look on her face
and she was just staring at him. This started to wear on his nerves and
he started to fidget. He was in enourmous det to this mysterious girl.
She should be his friend. But he felt enourmously uncomftorable around
her. " Well Ash. It will be a few weeks before the planets are in place
so you might as well rejoin your friends for the time being." She said
in an emotionless drall. " What?! Now? Really?! Marissa I-..." He didn't
get to finish the scentence as he was teleported to route 24 where his
friends were now slowly trudging along on. When the planets finally align..
my powers will be at it's peak. Then I will be able to conduct my power
into Ash..then.. the party will begin. Marissa thought to herself. She
started to chuckle as she stared blankly into space. Then she spoke, in
a small tone, like a child would " I will have lots of friends..." she
said to no one.

Ash looked ahead of him. There was Brock Misty and Pikachu.
He was too elated for words. He could not speak. He tried to scream Pikahu!
Misty!Brock! Look I'm not dead! But all he could do was mouth out the words
not able to make a sound. Tears ran from his cheeks as he saw Pikachu dragging
a bottle of Ketchup in his arms. He was hoping they would see him but he
was behind them, making no sound at all. He then mustered up all his strength
and whispered so softly only a pokemon's ears could hear. "Pikachu......"
he said with so much proud love and emotion his tears fell faster onto
his face. Pikachu turned it's sad little head expecting to see an empty
road. He knew the voice was just the wind whispering in his drooping ears
" Pikachu....Pikachuuuu..." The wind would tease, mimicing Ash's kind scratchy
voice. The wind taunted him for staying in the pokeball and not helping
his beloved compainion at his time of need. He then turned at the , what
he was positive was, vacant road and saw him. He had tears on his face,
love in his eyes, and had his arms slightly opened inviting Pikachu to
nestle in his arms, warm and safe. Pikachu's ears witch had drooped by
his side for weeks popped up and the beautiful pokemon voice he had refused
to use since Ash's death ringed in jubilation. He screamed with joy " PIKACHUUUUUU!!!"
He ran faster than the eye could see and jumped into Ash's arms. Ash held
onto the pokemon with long awaited happiness. He ruffeled the fur and chearished
the beautiful voice that pokemon had. He lowered his head and pushed his
cheek against the pokemon as Pikachu nuzzeled his tear streaked face affectionaltly.
Then Ash's voice was roused from deep in his cheast and let out a cheery
laugh, sure to brighten up anyone's spirit nearby as he was electrocuted
by the small electric mouse. Pikachu buried itself in ash's arms and chest
as he chanted Ash's name in the Pickachu tounge " Pika, pika, pika, pika,
pika, pika, pika, pika,!" Misty then turned her head, red puffy eyes wide
with fear at the sound of that clear comftoring laughter. Then the tears
gushed and her long gone beautiful heart melting smile appeared from
overwhelming darkness in her soul as she saw the most beautiful sight.
The face, the face she had so longed to see was there, right before her
eyes. His dark shining hair wild and unpredictable was there right in front
of her. His voice... oh his voice! Each moment she heard that voice her
smile widened, her heard swelled and the heart wrenching depression she
had been wallowing in for weeks dissapeared as her happiness shined through
the terrible darkness. She dropped her bag and ran full speed for Ash, sparks
flying in the air around him as he was jumpstarted by Pikachu's awesome
power. " Ash!!!" She screamed tears streaming from her eyes and falling
through the air. She almost knocked him down as she latched onto him. Pikachu
ignored the fact that she was there and kept shooting his watts of love
into Ash's worn and, very alive body. Misty cried and laughed at the same
time. Her happiness escelated by Pikachu's friendly shocks. She buried her
face into his warm shoulder and cried tears of joy." Ash!" she screamed
over the sounds of voltage from Pikachu's happiness. She squeezed him even
closer to her as she cried endlessly. She smiled so much it hurt. She cried
even harder as Ash too in turn wrapped his arms around her. He needn't
hold onto Pikachu any longer for Pikachu had a vise like grip on him. Pikachu
was squeezed inbetween then and let out an even more powerful jolt, this
time, unlike from the elevator incident from the S.S. Anne, from overwhelming
joy, not agiatation. Ash buried his face in her hair and cried harder.
She was shaking in his arms. He held her even more tightly hoping to calm
her down some but there was no way Misty could be brought down from this
incredible high of happiness. She moved her arms from squeezing his chest
to around his neck hoping to give him, maybe enough room to breathe. She
ran her fingers through his soft hair and closed her eyes. Pikachu finally
ran out of electricity and just sat there enjoying the warm feeling coming
from both his favorite trainers. Misty gasped for breath and laughed between
tears. "I-I thought I ..would never see you again!" she whispered as loud
as she could between sobs. She then cried, this time she cried with terror
and fear as she thought of the lonliness and sorrow she had endured. She
balled and wailed at the depression she had lived, witch still faintly
lingered in the warmness of her heart. She tried horridly to stop but she
could not. Ash just held the fragile girl in his arms cradeling her head
on his sholder, warmly rubbing her back trying to soothe the trembling
girl. " It's okay Misty...I'm here...I'm here." her breathing then slowed
and her heart calmed as she looked up at his face, into his eyes for the
first time. She was happily surprised to find a warm smile on his handsome
face, his eyes filled with heart melting tears. She then grabbed him around
his chest again and buried her head into his cheast wrinkling his newly
sewn jacket and shirt. Brock had been watching the pair still in
his spot afraid of inturrupting the moment. Now they just stood in silence.
He then dropped his backpack and ran towards the two. There was no way
he was going to loosen Misty from her grip on Ash, nor did he want to seperate
the two smiling people, so instead he took both his friends in his arms
and lifted them up off the ground breifly and then setting them down. Then
Ash and Misty found the courage to let go of each other. Then they all
stood watching each other in a comftorable silence. Brock cried tears of
joy and turned to Ash. " You have no idea how many people are mourning.
Everyone missed you, well ,misses you so much. Me and Misty the most. I
don't know how this happened and I don't care all I know is that your'e
alive." Then he ignored the male sense of pride, embaressed usually at
even walking too close to another guy, and gave Ash a big bear hug. After
what seemed like forever Brock let go and they once again stood in silence.
Then Brock put on his regular goofy face, the face that always made everyone
laugh, even at the most desperate of times, and hollered joyfully " GROUP
HUUUUUUUUG!!!" The three friends laughed and cried as they latched onto
each other for what seemed like an eternety. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Misty hummed and skipped down the road at a perfect pace with her two
best friends as they walked happily down the road. Misty looked at Brock.
Her heart burst open as she saw her, well amost brother, wipe off the emotionless
stare he had so long been acustomed to , and plastered on a goofy heart
warming smile. She then looked at Ash who was beaming. She was unusually
proud of her best friend. He had saved her and somehow, although very late,
came back to life after falling helpless into death right before her eyes.
She was giddy and hyper from the joy in her heart. She then playfully skipped
over to Ash whipped the hat off his head and then jumped away as he grabbed
for it. His smile was wide as he unsusessfully tried to act extreemly annoyed
as he said " Hey!" and tried to grab it back. He chased her in circles
laughing the entire time. He then gave up as she happily pranced about
the road with the hat on her head. Misty took both hands and grabbed onto
each side of the hat and pulled it harder onto her head. Ash looked at
her. Remembering what she said at the grave. He knew Brock knew. And he
knew that Misty was fully aware that Brock knew. But Misty had no idea
that Ash knew about how she cried and confessed her feelings as she said
her final goodbyes. Then it slowly started to drizzle. Misty looked up at
the rain. Usually the rain would of make her depressed and gloomy. Because
that is how most people see rain. But now it signified something different.
Today it signified cleasing. It signified that the depression and sadness
was washing away revealing her true happy self. She opened her arms and
twirled in a circle happily accepting the cold refreshing rain. Brock looked
further ahead on the road, pointed and exclaimed, " Look! A pokemon center!"
They all ran towards the pokemon center. Not really running from the rain
but more like running towards a hot meal. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
