It had come. They all knew that it would someday. And as
everyone rushed around to gather their things, it hit the small town of
Pallet. And in its Path, wiping out the people who lived there.
Though through the wreckage they pulled the bodies of a girl and two boys.
Panicking, the parents screamed and looked onto they're children's faces.
No response. One Man turned around and yelled, "It's here run everyone!!"
The boy slowly opened his eyes and saw the horror that was in store for
his town. Looking over at the two friends he once knew. Shaking
them gently to wake them up, only to find that one beginning to open his
eyes. The girl, however, laid life-less on the ground. There
was nothing he could do. He looked over at his best friend whispering
a soft goodbye, and laid his hand on the girls' face gently, giving his
last smile. "This is it" he thought, as his young eyes shut for the
last time.
"AHH!!" Ash screamed as he woke up breathing hard. "it was just
a dream.." he thought to himself, "…or was it?" He grabbed
the clock on his night stand. "7:00?! Oh my Gosh! I was
suppose to meet Brock and Misty an hour ago!!" He rushed to throw
on his clothes and grabbed his green rucksack waking Pikachu while brushing
his teeth. "PIKACHU!! WAKE UP!!" he said with a mouthful of
toothpaste. "Pikapi! pikachu? (good morning Ash, what's the rush?)"
Pikachu said stretching and yawning. "We're late!!" "PIKAPIKA!!!!
(you're right hurry up!)" They ran out the door where Ash's mother
was, trying to straighten up his clothes before he went out the door.
And after a few minutes of his mom's grooming, he went outside and ran
down the street to the Pokemon Center. "Pikachu. Pikapikapi pikachu pikachu..(I
know you wouldn't have let your mom groom you like that for no reason.
We're only going to the Pokemon Center. The only people there are
Brock and….Misty. I'm thinking you like Misty don't you??)" Ash of
course understood all this, but never made a word. But he turned
red in the face when Pikachu asked about him and Misty as they ran.
When Ash and Pikachu finally got to where they were suppose to meet
Brock and Misty, he was surprised to find that only Brock was there.
He sat waiting quietly, talking to Nurse Joy, no doubt trying to ask
her on a date. "Yo Brock!" Ash said as he and Pikachu walked
over to the counter where Brock and Nurse Joy were talking. "Hey
Ash", said Brock, not really sounding like himself. "Hey Brock,
where's Misty? Wasn't she suppose to be here with us?" "Yeah
she was…but she said she couldn't make it today, she said she wouldn't
be back until later." "Damnit! Well, I guess we can go capture some
new pokemon without her today" "Pikapikachuchu (That's not the only
reason you want her here is it Ash?)" Ash highered the collar of
his blue jacket to cover up the redness in his face. Good thing too
because Brock was too busy pestering Nurse Joy for a date to even notice
Ash blushing.
They walked to Viridian Forest slowly. Brock, as far as
Ash could tell, was still thinking about him and Nurse Joy on their little
espionage, and was still in a little dream world all his own.. And
Pikachu, sound asleep in his arms seemed so sweet, and which to him made
it a great day to be outside. "Hey Brock, I gotta tell you.
I had the weirdest dream last night! There was this terrible storm,
and everyone in Pallet was screaming and the parents were crying, the kids
were suffering, I was hurt and I thought you were dead, and Misty……"
He cut his sentence off short and bit his lower lip until it hurt.
"Whoa, that's a pretty deep dream, Ash", Brock stated, "Do you think it
means something?" "I hope not. I don't know what I'd do if
Misty and you weren't here. Let's change the subject" "Ok,
but keep that dream in mind. Remember, these things can sometimes
be bad omens of things to come" "I will Brock….I will"
"Well!! If it isn't little Ash! What are you doing
here?" That voice, it was so distinct. "GARY!"
Ash said in awe. "Where are you off to on this bright warm day?"
he asked, not acting as if he cared about that much. His cheerleader
fan club cheered in the background: "GARY, GARY, GARY GARY!" "To
catch some new pokemon" Ash looked at him defensively. Gary looked
back the same way. "And I see you're missing the third party in your
little group. What's her name? Misty is it?" Ash lowered
his face trying to hide the red in his face and not saying a word.
"Well Ash, guess I'm wasting my time here I've got pokemon to catch!
See you later suckers!" Gary shouted as his car drove off down the
road. "God, Gary! You don't have to be in everybody's face
all the time!!" Ash hollered back at him, but by then Gary was too far
away to hear.
After Catching some new pokemon and trying them out, he sat down
in his livingroom and turned on the pokemon tournament on T.V. "Where
did Misty get off to, Pikachu?" "Pika pikachu chu pikapi (How should
I know, Ash? I'm busy)" Pikachu turned back around to Ash's Gameboy
and continued playing Pokemon (red version for those who care). "I'm
worried about her. She's never gone an entire day with out going
with us to catch new pokemon." "Pikapika pikachu pika pikachu (She probably
didn't want to come. After all, what kind of water pokemon can you
catch in Viridian Forest?)" "C'mon Pikachu, you and I both know we always
stop by the stream to let her catch her water pokemon!"
Just then the phone rang. Ash's mother answered.
"Hello? Oh yes, he's right here, hold on. ASH! TELEPHONE!!"
"I have it mom thanks", he said as he picked up the receiver. "Hello?"
"Ash!!" Ash's face went completely blood color. By then Pikachu knew
it was Misty on the telephone just by Ash's face so without a sound, went
into the kitchen to get some ketchup out the fridge. "H-h-h-hello
M-m-m-misty how are y-y-you?"
"ASH PLEASE HELP ME!!" Just then another voice popped on the line.
"You remember her don't you Ash……?" Ash's heart stopped for a minute.
He tried to talk but the words wouldn't come out. But he could hear
Misty's muffled screaming in the background. "If you EVER want to
see her again, you will meet me at the new Pallet Town Pokemon Center
that's being finished tomorrow." "And If I refuse?!" Ash stated firmly,
finally able to get the butterflies out of his stomach. "Don't worry…heh
heh heh….you will be there….I know you too well…..you'll be there Ash."
Click, the phone went dead. Ash dropped the phone to the floor and
fell to his knees.
"Misty…." Ash covered his face and hung up the phone, only to drag
himself up to bed. All night he couldn't sleep. He tossed and
turned around until he couldn't breathe.
Chapter #2
Somewhere in Pallet the man yelled, "It's coming, THE STORM IS HERE!!"
He remembered looking at Brock. Quietly looking at Ash. He
could tell that Brock knew that this was the end of them all. Brock
slowly turned his head and closed his eyes. Ash, still trying to
see around him, looked at Misty. To him Misty was his life.
She wouldn't have known that at the time, but she was without a doubt.
Ash reached over to touch her face and lifted his face to kiss her on the
cheek. And held her hand, which didn't grasp his hand back..
Again Ash woke with a startle. This time though, he wasn't afraid.
For it was morning, and it was the day that he'd waited for. Misty.
"I will find her", Ash said as he looked into the sky. "But who was it
in the phone with her?" He walked with Pikachu by his side to the Pokemon
Center. Out Back a rustle in the bushes was heard. He turned
around quickly.
"To protect the World from Devastation!"
"To unite all people within our nation!
"To Denounce the evils of Truth And Love"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
"Jesse"
"James"
"Team Rocket Blast off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now or prepare to fight!"
"MEEOWWWWWWTH!!!!! THAT'S RIGHT!!"
"PIKACHU! (Team Rocket)", screamed Pikachu who scattered behind Ash's
left ankle. "What are YOU doing here?!" Ash yelled at them
with utter fury. He reached for the pokeballs at his waist ready to fight.
"We're not here for a pokemon battle" James said with a smile, "We're here
for that girl!" "You Mean Misty?! What do you want with Misty?
She's not with me!" Ash was getting red again, this time from anger. Meowth
stepped over Jesse. "That girl has just the right pokemon we need.
That Goldeen she has would come in handy for us!" Meowth shot a huge smile
and laughed heartily. "heh ha ha ha ha" James chuckled, "we found the remains
of the S.S.Anne Cruise Liner at the bottom of the Ocean. Along with
it valuables beyond your wildest dreams! We need that Goldeen to
swim down there and get the cargo for us! Then with the money we can get
more Pokemon!!" "So hand over the girl, boy!" Jesse piped in wittingly.
Ash was puzzled. "…you mean you don't have Misty?" He looked really worried.
If Misty wasn't with Team Rocket…..where was she? Who had her?
"I thought she was with you!" Meowth stood up and spread his claws
out wide.
It started to rain. Ash knew he didn't want to stay out in the
rain so they pitched a tent and stayed there. Pikachu and his ketchup
were safely inside the tent and so was Ash, listening to a small portable
radio. Though it wasn't like he could hear it with Team Rocket screaming
outside to let them in the tent. "Alright! I'll let you in!"
Ash yelled as James and Jesse entered the tent. "It's about time
you little..! I was soaked out there!" Jesse argued.
James peeked his head out into the rain. Then got up to go outside.
"Ummm…." He said hesitantly, "LEMME IN LEMME IN!!"
"James! What is wrong with you!?" Jesse barked. "L-l-l-l-look
out there!!" Everyone looked out of Ash's small tent. "Oh, no", Ash
thought to himself, "my dream…..Brock told me to remember it." For
what was coming their way was a huge black cloud and a hurricane coming
towards them. Jesse and James were motionless in each other's arms.
"WHAT'LL WE DO?? WHAT'LL WE DO?!" They blurted out frightened. Ash
couldn't find the words he wanted to say. He felt like he was
underwater and couldn't breathe. He just stared blankly as the black
cloud moved closer.
Finally he recognized a voice so sweet and loving, yet so familiar.
"Ash!! Where are you?! I need you!!" He knew it too well and froze
in place. And again covered his face with his hat, bringing the visor
down.
"Misty! Where are you?! Please!" Ash cried out into the hurricane.
By now it was raining hard and the tent had blown away. Thunder crashed
so hard it hurt his ears, and the lighting was so bright it blinded him
and Pikachu.
After of what seemed like hours of screaming, he saw Misty.
She was held to someone. Too closely. That made Ash's blood
boil, but then he remembered. The phone call! Was this the
man that was on the telephone?
"YOU!!" Ash hollered at them. The figure holding Misty just turned
to face Ash. "You did come. I knew you would. Misty means
everything to you. You've loved her right from the start. I
knew that. It's time to interfere! Jolteon GO!!" He threw
a pokeball at Ash and a Jolteon came out. It glared its red eyes
at Pikachu in through the rain and wind. "Pikachu…" Ash whispered
into the ear of his now really wet furry friend and hugged him close. "Please,
save Misty…Please Pikachu do your best, my friend" Pikachu shook
of some water and headed at the Jolteon. He looked back at Ash who
was looking up at the sky. "PikaPI!!!! (You're going down!)" said
Pikachu as it shot an Electric Bolt. Pikachu looked up at the sky.
The lighting had come down and joined with Pikachu's attack and made it
double powerful. Pikachu looked back over at Jolteon. It was
laying on the ground in pain.
"My Jolteon.."said the cloaked figure. "Your Pikachu is
so powerful…my Jolteon was only at level 14." He continued.
"I forfeit.."
He dropped to his knees in the raging winds and rain, the lighting
and the thunder. Slowly he said, "return….Jolteon" and
buried his face into the muddy ground. Ash looked at him and walked
over. He undid the tie on his hood that was covering his face…
"GARY!!! Look at this! Why did you do this to us?!
We have never done anything to you!!" Ash leaned over to hit Gary
until Misty stepped in the way of the blow and got it in the face.
"Misty!!" Ash pulled back his own hand in disgust with himself.
"Get OUT OF HERE GARY!!" Gary said nothing and slowly rose to his
feet. "GO!!" Ash yelled, enraged. Gary ran into the eye of
the hurricane. Ash returned to Misty's side as she started to wake
up. "Ash,", she said weakly in a whispering breath, "I love you,
even if you'll never know. I don't know why Gary kidnapped me.
Nor do I want to. I stepped in the way because I didn't want you
to get hurt like I did. All that matters is that I'm in your arms.
That's all I've ever wanted, Ash." A tear trickled down Ash's face
and hit Misty's. "I've always cared about you Misty, but don't
talk right now." Ash leaned over Misty's face and kissed her.
"ASH! MISTY!" They both took their faces away from eachother
to see Brock running this way with Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy. "What
happened here?" Brock said coyly. "We'll explain later right now
we have to get out of this…" But Ash was interrupted by a Nurse Joy.
"RUN EVERYONE! IT'S THE EYE OF THE STORM!! IT'S STARTED AN
AVALANCHE OF ROCKS!!" Nurse Joy took Jenny's Arm and ran.
"AHHH!!" Ash said as he fell down underneath the weight of the
falling rocks. It really was his dream. Ash looked down at
himself. He was tattered and torn, bleeding in some places and his
clothes were soaking wet. Pikachu lay lifeless beside him, hugging his
chest. Not breathing. Ash closed his eyes remembering his best
friend. Then looked over at Brock. Brock didn't say a word
to Ash. He Just looked, nodded his head, smiled, then closed his
eyes and went lifeless as well. "Misty…" Ash whispered. There
was no movement at all from Misty. "How could this happen to us,
Misty? We're finally together. As we always should be.
And we'll die together as well." Ash looked up at the people screaming
and at the massive rock slide. "I love you, Misty" Ash leaned over
her lifeless face one last time and kissed her cheek and held her hand,
cut and bleeding. This was it. This was the last thing to cross
his mind when he closed his eyes again: "Dreams do come true.
We're together, Misty…." His voice trailed off. He took his
last breath of air and went to sleep for the last time.
EPILOGUE
