The professor has Malmartzu take over Misty’s body and as her attack Ash. Ash has to destroy Malmartzu, without hurting Misty. With both of them near death, they realize their feelings for each other.

Ash and Misty decides to return to Pallet. Unfortunately, Pallet has been destroyed and yet, Ash has gotten into a rage. After calming, down, a new Team Rocket member tries to steal Misty's love as Ash seeks a way to prevent it.
Ash suffers a great lost after a fall. Although he didn't get amnesia, he got something else that made him a different person to all his friends. Lacking almost every emotion there was, Ash is a completely different person to everybody. Misty, Brock, and Pikachu try to recover Ash in the best way they can but found it difficult. Misty also learns of Ash's true feelings. Ash also learns hers. However, Ash also discovers he is missing something ever since he started his Pokemon Journey but doesn't know what it is yet.
An eventful evening at a banquet leads to Ash and Misty taking a deeper look at their friendship. After a few misunderstandings, things are finally working out between them as they confess their love in a mad scientist's lab...But what will be the final outcome?
